I have to say I dont think I will ever have the balls to go as fast as you guys are going. Are you guys wearing leathers while doing this? What kind of terrain are you doing it on. When I go 70mph the wind has me feeling unstable. I feel a lot more confortable with a helmet on. What is everyone wearing?

Saw the speedo nudging past 170 on my K8 before backing off. Felt pretty darn stable at that speed, but was coming up on traffic about 1/4 mile ahead. Full helmet, gloves, boots, leather jacket and fire-hose trousers in a full tuck. The beast was still pulling. To tell the truth, that was enough for me at 60 years old with an arthritic back, I don't want to push my luck.

up here we have 2-5 mile straits with zero traffic.
this bike is by far the most stable vehicle I have ever driven at highspeed. I have maxed out the speedo and was amazed at how quickly the bike was accelerating still at high speed.

Where does the 2008 lose it's grunt?

i got hit by a rock at about 240km/h i was tailgating a 1200k BMW that mutha hurt like hell.. got hit on my left arm.. bled for a bout an hour.. then turned purple for a few weeks.. ugh.. i hate beemers

I have gotten to 170 uncorrected, but on the dyno with what I believe to be stock sprockets (rear anyway), she got to 187, before hitting the 11k rev limiter.

As would I! And I guess I cant look down on you too much. I am guilty of coasting at 50 mph in nuetral with no hands, whipped out the cell, and texted my buddy "hey im on the bike right now!"
Of course there were no cars, I knew the area VERY well, I was the only person around and I DID HAVE A HELMET!
