Maybe Al Gore was right.

No matter what, I will never support Al Gore. But, his talk in the past on the enviorment has got me thinking about how the world climate is changing.

I'm noticing how different the weather is now. The summers, the winters, the 15day Spring/Fall seasons. Things are different now. We don't get normal rain storms anymore here in Springfield,Va.  It seems as if every storm that's rolling through has heavy winds, lightning and Tornados touching down somewhere.

Yep, Tornados in Virginia.

Makes you wonder if our Goverment knows something we don't know.

It's true because I invented the weather.

Al Gore

Well all I have to say is growing up, the weather was paradise compared to the what it is now.. Lived in Florida all my life and the weather seems to get worse every year. We don't have winters anymore haha

I dunno, all I know for sure is that I've had only 2 clear riding days since I bought my new bike... Highly unusual for this time of year here in the Northwest. Hell we had record cold and snow in the Mountains yesterday, again very unusual.

Grew up right here in South Carolina.. Lets see, got sun poisoning many times as a kid. Seems just as hot here now.. Spent a lot of time at the lake, was cooler due ot the breze.. Still have the afternoon 4pm thunder storm. Still get tonrado warnings. I wounder if all the "tornado sightings" buy the weather "helpers" are nothing more then a funny shaped cloud that the grandma who is sitting there over dosing on her glaucoma medicine is seeing?!?

Was hot then, its hot now.. I dont care how many degrees aver 100 it will feel like.. Its HOT!!!!

"The National Academy of Sciences says the rise in the Earth's surface temperature has been about one degree Fahrenheit in the past century. Did 85 percent of Americans notice? Of course not. They got their anxiety from journalism calculated to produce it. Never mind that one degree might be the margin of error when measuring the planet's temperature."

The temps. might not be getting higher but the humidity sure makes it feel that way.

well who knows the cause but weather has been odd, I think we have a few things to blame. There could be some truth to the whole global warming, it could also be that we are more in tune with the weather and its changes than we have ever been in history.

Think about it, there is no easy way to get a true look at how things were back 1000+ years ago in this country...No one recorded the hurricanes or el nino(a) stuff.

There's always been tornados in central VA, just maybe not as frequently but there have been plenty in the past 30yrs that I can recall.

All I know is that its freakin hot on the east coast this week... really hot and humid and riding in the "stale air" of traffic SUCKS

yea the climate is changing... it is always changing... we are just finishing what was considered a "mini iceage"

seems to be logical, if you are exiting a cold period, it should "warm up" or is that just too easy... in 20,000 years, the US will be covered in glacier again.... woohoo!

Al Gore.... Why give Al Gore any kinda credit here? It's a proven (Many times over) fact that the earth has gone through cylces of climate changes. A couple "Ice Ages" if you will, the earth has gone through. Guys Read the Book of Revelation and be truly amazed with things that where written thousands of years ago that have come true... and are comming true. You really want to put chills up your spine? Read it, think about it, discuss it. them the phrase OMG! will mean something.

Only stuff that comes out of Al Gore's mouth....see below.
We just had the coldest winter in Chicago in 22 years.
It snowed the most we've seen in 2 decades.

Don't give these idiots ANYMORE faith then they are trying to get
because as you can see , all they want to do is find MORE ways to
tax you for stupid things that can't be proven.

The climate is obviously changing , but we don't really know why.
It happens in cycles. The seasons have shifted up a month IMO.
When I was a kid it snowed BEFORE Christmas almost all the time.
Now , it never snows til the week of Christmas OR After. Plus Winter
lasts up until April for the most part now instead of just March.

Wrath and Aceshigh, you guys need to reread my post. I'm not supporting anything by Al Gore. I used his name to attract attention to this thread and for a joke.

He won a $5,000,000 nobel prize for his climate "discoveries".. It is a total crock of crap. Surely, the age of industrialization has a tiny bit to do with it but overall, the natural cycles of climate are just that: Natural.

and to think...all along I've been listening to college educated scientists that have made the study of climate change their life's goal. Little did I know the answers were right here on my favorite motorcycle forum.

reminds me of "chicken little" hitting the lotto...

The bottom line, the earth is bigger than all of us

As stated above, the earth has its own cycles, its own way of balancing things out.

People complain about global warming, the end of the world, guess what?

More people = the need for more water.

This is probably really simplistic, however global warming causes the ice caps to melt, some of it goes back into the ocean, some of it evaporates, regardless the plant is providing more water for us. (this is just a very small example of a way to look at things)

people complain that we are killing species off on this planet that will never exist again. guess what? get over it species have come and gone long before humans had the ability to make it happen.

The bottom line. we are the caretakers of this planet, we do need to do the best we can, I feel we need to do our best to get more "green" for lack of a better word, finding ways to obtain power the are eco friendly (solar, wind, bio fuels, hydrogen, etc)

And I feel we do need to be more conscious about our garbage and land fills etc, however we just need to do the best we can without getting all doom and gloom over things and without being so arrogant as to think we are destroying the world.

Our actions might cause the human race to die off, or our actions might cause a huge part of living species to become extinct including humans.

But in the end the planet will not be destroyed, and once the parasite infestation of this planet has been removed then the planet can begin to heal itself muah ha ha!!!!

That is if we humans don't get a clue and really screw ourselves, but the bottom line, environmentalist need not worry about what we are doing to the planet, the planet will take care of itself, and it will get rid of us long before we can get rid of it.
