Red keeps the traffic moving
Thanks for digging this thread up Rojo. I remember reading VaBusa's post and thinking..."no shidt"....just too many that know how to use a computer??
I'm really getting sick of being bombarded by the slew of "posters" that seem to go viral and are posted as "fact" on the web.
Are we so simple that we just take whatever's fed to us and never bother to research any of it?? It's not just the media doing it; it's every day people sitting at their computers trying to force feed us with very skewed ideals, and are we so simple nowadays that we just accept all that's fed to us??
I was surprised to find that Gov. Chris Christie ordered flags in NJ to be lowered in honor of Whitney Houston, NOT Obama...so, when crap like this is made, shared and becomes "fact" for those looking for one more reason to hate the other side, what does that accomplish?? Both sides are guilty as hell of this; guess we're fortunate that both sides are equally simple

Yep agree, if you really want to see BS, go to uncensored X and unbelievable what statements people make. Thanks for digging this thread up Rojo. I remember reading VaBusa's post and thinking..."no shidt".
Way past that age of respect for authority and elders.....Yep agree, if you really want to see BS, go to uncensored X and unbelievable what statements people make.
I always wonder, are we past the ages where there were respect for authority, respect from the younger crowd for seniors and respect for parents?
Perhaps I am one of the lucky exceptions, but that respect was nurtured in my family and I still have it today with both my independant kids.Way past that age of respect for authority and elders.....
You are also not an upcoming generation either......are you a boomer or X? Either way you've had respect for elders and authority beaten into you like the rest of us....Perhaps I am one of the lucky exceptions, but that respect was nurtured in my family and I still have it today with both my independant kids.
I would agree with you as far as the US in concerned. Have spent a lot of time in Canada, but on a professional basis, so it hard for me to judge family culture. It appears the same as here. You are also not an upcoming generation either......are you a boomer or X? Either way you've had respect for elders and authority beaten into you like the rest of us....
Go into a school or youth sporting event and see how much respect there is......you'll be looking for some time to find any....
Not in our countries and that's what counts...because this is where we live and our future.I would agree with you as far as the US in concerned. Have spent a lot of time in Canada, but on a professional basis, so it hard for me to judge family culture. It appears the same as here.
There are many countries though, where those traditions of respect still exist.
I have family in five different first world countries, my boundaries are a bit bigger than yours. We are in contact frequently. Not in our countries and that's what counts...because this is where we live and our future.
But you live in the US.......so people not having respect for authority, parents or elders will affect you most where you live not where you visit.I have family in five different first world countries, my boundaries are a bit bigger than yours. We are in contact frequently.
I hear you. The people I mingle with, I just don't see to much of that and my kids are way beyond school sports, they are professionally employed with their own lives, so I don't see that side of it.But you live in the US.......so people not having respect for authority, parents or elders will affect you most where you live not where you visit.
I have lots of family in the US but in reality, what happens in their neighborhood or little league game does very little to affect my quality of life.
But having these same disrespectful people in my own neighborhood certainly does.
I have 7 grand kids and am surrounded by kids in my neighborhood...thankfully for the most part they are all decent kids although many of them run their households including my grandkids to a certain degree.....I raised both my boys to be a certain way but the ladies they married have totally different points of view....I hear you. My one granddaughter lives close by and we see her almost every weekend. She knows where the boundaries are though and that is enough respect for me.I have 7 grand kids and am surrounded by kids in my neighborhood...thankfully for the most part they are all decent kids although many of them run their households including my grandkids to a certain degree.....I raised both my boys to be a certain way but the ladies they married have totally different points of view....
Like attracts like. We tend to hang with people who have the same values, at least I do.I hear you. The people I mingle with, I just don't see to much of that and my kids are way beyond school sports, they are professionally employed with their own lives, so I don't see that side of it.
