Meet-n-greet 2 (2006)

Spent part of last weekend in and around Eureka Springs. travelled scenic hwy. 7 to i-40 west to 23 and back to Eureka Springs. Nice all day ride. Hwy 7 is great. 23 " the pig trail " was not my cup of tea though. Road was in bad shape in many parts and tree covered "dappled light " hard to see road. Hwy 7 would be my recomendation for day trip. later...

Roger that...the pig trail is not a "hayabusa road", rather one to be enjoyed at a snail's pace. Turns are too tight for the busa, when I run down that way the pig trail is aways where I slow down and enjoy the scenery. It's almost like going through a tunnel or being in the rain forest, vegetation so thick it's hard to see the sky. Plus, I aways seem to meet at least one logging truck....however, on a hot day, the trail is always bout 10 degrees cooler. The trip to take is the Lost Valley loop stopping for a world famous burger, fries and milkshake combo in Jasper. 15 of us did just that last Sunday. There must have been 100 bikes around the Jasper town square, 50% sport bikes. Met an 81 year old rider from Wisconson riding an ancient BMW, literally had two 50 yr old Samsonite suitcases bungied to the back...he was sooo cool. Just touring around this summer, already logged 2200 miles. Had heard about the fabulous riding in Arkansas, came to check it out.

Almost forgot....make sure to bring your go-cart skills as there will be some heavy competition during the evenings....a little bump and grind, if you will....what a hoot!

Anybody who loves twisties will definitely enjoy Highway 12 between Rogers and Eureka Springs. I live in Rogers and drive that way on business once or twice a week, and there are I believe two straight stretches in 35 miles, no ####. You are always leaning into a turn and most of it is a series of S turns one after another. Looks like someone took a large constrictor, poured a half-gallon of Jack Daniels down it's throat and used the result to plan a road.

The good news is, my company vehicle is a Taurus and I can average about 60 for the trip. That would probably make it a fun 20 minute ride for the more seasoned corner-freaks in the group!
If anyone needs info on the area Google Eureka Springs or Rogers Chamber of Commerce and you will find tons of stuff, maps etc. I'll be happy to answer any questions I can as well.

Does this mean your going to attend the event?

Sonny,
Shibumi is in the process of acquiring his first Busa.  He is one of my dearest and oldest friends (you old bastid

).  Hopefully he will have a Busa by then and the Meet -N- Greet will be the first Busa event that he has the opportunity to attend.  Even if he hasn't decorated his garage with one by then, he will probably still be come over the event at least one day.

Still not sure if I am going to make it. Just got a call and was excepted for a job in the Service center so depending on when they finally let me go there and what shift I will be on will still affect if I can make it or not. Still going to try though.
