I met with the adjuster, he saw the bike, looked at me, looked back at the bike, spun me around with a gentle push on the shoulder and asked "Are you sure you were riding this"? I showed him the jacket and helmet and he was beside himself... He told me the bike was a total loss and they should crunch the numbers tomorrow and Monday and have a figure for me back by Wed with the price for the buy back of the wrecked 07.

I am one blessed man!

We are all glad you faired as well as you did.

Hopefully they will give you enough for it. Just glad your on your feet and ready to ride soon.

are you gonna ride again???

would be awsome if you do, i'd understand your thoughts on it either way capt.

again, glad you're ok and thank you for this board.

You should get all the money! And then some!

The adjuster was AWESOME! He went in the shop with me, looked at the bike, looked over at the vette, asked if we could take the cover off.. We pulled the cover off and he wanted to see the engine and hear it run.... He turned around and saw the police car and went through it too... he said that he could see that we took care of everything that we owned and he was fantastic to work with. He is a long time bike rider and he does all of the classic cars and hot rod adjustments. He asked me what I wanted out of all this and I told him that I just wanted to be back in the position I was before the crash, a new bike, accessories that were added and my gear, if they want to cut me a deal on the crashed bike great, if not honestly Im just glad to be alive.... The guy that pulled out in front of me didn't mean to and has been calling to check on me every day.... Bad things just happen to good people some times.... He didn't intend to hurt me, life just played out.... we all make mistakes... I think the adjuster liked the attitude !

Here is the cool part, he called me tonight and told me to get him a list of the extra stuff that was on the bike (HID's, Throttlemeister) and my gear and to make a list and just call him back with the total. I called him back and told him the replacement prices and he never flinched, he said that he trusted me, didnt ask for a receipt or anything.. Of course we didn't try to screw them or anything and I think that he new that..... We left everything on the bike just the way it was, professor and I wanted to dig into the bike the other night to take a better look but we resisted the urge and left it just the way we found it. This adjuster told me to pull whatever I added to it off that I wanted...... He called me back a few minutes ago and said the check is in the mail for the gear and accessories.

I was blessed to come out of the accident relatively unharmed, Im lucky that this insurance company is willing to work with me on EVERYTHING at this point.....

He said that they will crunch the numbers tomorrow and should have an offer to me (including the cost of tag, tax, and title) on Monday and the price of the crashed bike so I can decide if I want to buy it back.......

Keep the prayers coming it aint over yet.... There is a lot of answered prayers happening here....

We pray for you every night at dinner in my house Cap'n, thank you for all that you have done for all of us here and godspeed with a full recovery. No emoticon could express my thanks.

great news Cap. now the big question is, if you do get another bike, 07 or 08?

Ya know I am going to mount up again... Im not sure what I am going to get because I dont have the information from the insurance yet on their offer. However if I had to choose the back 08 would be my choice.

I'm either stupid or stubborn but I still have the deep desire to ride... Maybe because I have been in good condition and was fortunate to not really be injured seriously. I dont have any real reservations about riding again... I GUARANTEE that I will be more observant to blind spots in active areas though......

I still need prayers, thanks guys for lifting me up. There is nothing more personal or a better way to show friendship then to pray for someone when they need it....

THANK YOU ....

Glad to hear you plan to ride again. I was nervous after my wreck and rode a buddies 600 for a couple of days and for the first hour on the bike was not sure if I wanted to ride anymore. I was so nervous, then I started to relax and remembered what I loved about riding. Once it is in your blood it is hard to stop riding.
