If you're talking experienced riders--it'll be a drivers race.

Inexperienced to moderate riders, and the Busa's gonna win. It has a longer wheelbase and is FAR easier to accelerate hard. Twist a liter bike's grip like a busa and you'll be looking at airplaine vapor trails.

As i said before , i have many bikes including 05 & 06 and 08 Busa , and also a 08 Gixxer , Gixxer can't CATCH a Busa (both Gen1 and Gen2) on an OPEN STRAIGHT highways . Who says cross , he is not saying the truth .

pick up the july cycle world mag...  fun article..   gsxr1k   BEAT an 08 busa to 150 mph and was less than a quarter of a second behind at 180.

my friend has a 07 gixxer 1000 stock i have 05 busa stock 2nd gear roll on busa pulls a half a bike lenght hit 3rd the 1000 pulls away i can never reel him in we have done this many times always same result . busa rider 250lbs. gixxer rider 190lbs.

I almost bought an o8 gixxer 1000 but went for the 08 busa instead. I don't think you could go wrong either way.

bosshound dont worry about it there is no way a busa is going to get outrun by a 1k bike in a straight line race.(similar mods and riders experience).

you can read all the mags in the world but the only thing that counts is what happens in reality. if 1k's were so d*** fast in a straight line thats all you would see at the dragstrip. go to a dragstrip and see whats there. busa after busa and a couple of zx-14's that wish they had waited on a new busa.

i got a friend that bought a new zx-10 and wanted to race. wouldnt shut up about how bas a** it was. looked at my plate and asked me was that supposed to mean something to him. i said it will. when we raced he asked about the start. i said just take off when youre ready. he let out after i had about 3-4 bikes on him in at the top of second gear. i told him i didnt want any twisties with him but straight lines are what the busa does. end of story!!

Depends on what year it is and if they are both stock.

The '05 + Gixxer 1000's will beat a Busa.

I wouldn't bet on someone beating a newer Gixxer 1000.

I've ridden the '05+ Gixxers, best friend owns one.
Like he said, the guy was shaking his head probably laughing....

But its all good, as long as you thought you beat him.

Then why does everyone say that just about any late model liter bikes will spank a Busa (stock vs. stock), with equal riders ?

I think I can say that

Mine had pc3 yoshi slip ons lowered and tre, against 07 1k with pipes and 2nd and 3rd gear he pulls on me by about 3 or 4 bikes and then 4th gear I catch up and we stay the same till about 180 then we both back off.
I respect them 1k and want one

BTW stock against stock I got my money on the 1k all the way

When we came up to the Next Intersection. He just Stopped about 2 Feet Behind me and SHOOK HIS HEAD and Turned LEFT

1. He was new to his own bike and suffering acute testicular failure or?...

2. He wanted ta ride with ya and wrote ya off as a throttle jerk.

but rest assured...you didn't "KILL" a G1K at 1/2 throttle...i don't care what year it was.

as for the:
1K stock beating busa stock straight line... POSSIBLE if your really tired, had a couple drinks, and passed out then you start dreaming!!!

I will respectfully disagree with you on that one. I too have both and I've found the 05/06 GSXR1000 can hang with a Gen. I busa to well over 150 mph. I've never kept them both pinned to the limiter but I'm guessing the busa may be slightly faster at max speed. The 07/08 Gixxer has a bit more HP and I have no trouble passing a stock Gen. I busa at the track. I have to be right on his ass coming out of the last turn onto the straight to get it done, but the new gixxer gets the job done. And once you hit the first turn, you never see the busa again until you lap him.

I have not tested my 08 busa against the gixxer but I'm thinking the gixxer won't out muscle this one?
