How many of you guys think this tire is too track for the street? I'm thinking it might wear fast, but I don't care about that if it gives me some edge in handling (I need all the help I can get).

1/4 mile or road course (track day) ???
So you think it wears too fast or is too soft for the street? Or it just costs too much?

Would you pick another Michelin? I like Michelin in general, but maybe this tire is not well suited to the street?

It is a great tire for the street...a better one is the Bridgestone BT 016

That is my favorite tire for the street. I don't take my Busa to the track, I have a Honda 600RR for that. I get about 5K out of a rear, & 8K front.

True Statement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMO both the PP & 2ct are decent street tires but poor track tires. As Rich said, it's hard to beat the BTO16 for street use and makes a very capable track tire.

Which one? There is PR2 and a PP2. I have the PR2 on the rear and after 6,000 miles it still looks great! No slip in the corners either.

Great Tire for aggravate riding on the street, would not suggest for Highway use. Mile wise I got about 4500 mile on the Rear, I still had alot of tread on front, But I change both tires at same time.

There is ONLY one...2CT is the Pilot Power 2CT...the one that you have is
the "Pilot Road 2"...they both have dual compound technology :beerchug:

The Michelin's have a dual compound rear with a single compound front. The
BT 016 has a dual compound front AND a 'three' compound rear :beerchug:

In one sentence you say there is only one and then you say there are two??? I know the one I have is the PR2. I said that already. So, what's the difference I wonder? Both have dual compounds and identical or very similar tread patterns.

PR2CT and PP2CT same design, different compounds.. PR (Pilot Road) is the long legged one) :)

PP2CT is a Pilot Power with the softer Pilot "race" compound on the sides..
PR2CT is the Pilot road tire with the softer Pilot Power sidewall

Both 2CT tires are shorter on sidewall life due to softer compounding..

at least this is what I could gain from reading all the sales hype..

Most info I've had yet. Thanks.

There's a pilot road 2ct also. Sport touring in the middle and trackdays on the edges.
That's the tire I would run on a mild Busa.

welcome.. I have my first set of BT016's on the bike right now.. (I have never run any of the Pilot tires)

I have run Dunlop qualifiers (loved them) and the Pirelli Corsa 3's (another really excellent tire).. The BT016 tends to slide a little ahead of the the Qualifier from what I can tell.. However this is on colder pavement so not really a valid evaluation.. Any of these tires are easily more competent than I am all the same..

I would rather spend $240 on the BT016 than the $300+ for the Pilot 2CT tires for the same reason.. I am happy with the cheaper tire :)

WHOA... Tuf:
Did you say Michelin makes a Decent street tire?
or are my eyes deceiving me?

:poke:

Just kidding.

They use different compounds and a different carcass...the Pilot Road 2...is not the 2 CT...it uses "2 CT Technology"...

Pilot Power 2 CT is more for 'sport bikes'

Pilot Road 2 is more for 'sport touring'

I live in NorCal and my streeet riding is on twisty roads. I just went from stock BT015 to PP2CT. Very big improvement. Also went from 190/50 profile to 190/55. I will take my riding to the next level on these tires.

Bt002 on front Bt016 on rear rides great! I had pp 2ct and they where good also but I got
the brigestone for a great deal
