A week ago Friday (21MAY10), I put a set of Pilot Pure 190/50 (rear) and 120/70 (front) on my Gen2, Wasabi.
As impressed with them as I was when I put them on the Gen1, I was sure I was going to love them.
The work order says I had 66,190 miles on her (the Gen2) when I had them installed.
I have in the last nine days put 1,000 miles on them. Really, by itself, no big whoop.
The only reason I point this out is to let you know that I'm out there actually 'using' these tires.
With the wider stripes of softer compound flanking the harder center-strip, the pilot finds the 'grippy' part far sooner on the Pure than on other Michelin tires...specifically, the 2CT and the Road2's; both of which I also love, and have absolutely NO PROBLEM having installed and going out for a good canyon romp.
In my initial review "Pure Joy," I mentioned that I'd never had as much confidence in a street tire as I had in them, and that absolutely holds true with these.
I suspect that I'll burn through the 2nd set far faster than the 1st, as I won't be logging many more miles on the Gen1 this year; at least, I don't plan to.
Anyway...once again, I can highly recommend these tires for serious street/canyon/mountain motorcycling enthusiasts...and they seem to be particularly 'busa-friendly.
I know many of you are interested in the tread-wear longevity, so as soon as I need to replace them, I'll give you an update.
I know you've seen the attached pictures before, but they show the tire after about 600 miles wear.
Ride safe; and enjoy!!!
