MICHELIN POWER PILOT 2CT

Not sure about the Dunlop Qualifiers, never put them on, BUt I had Dunlop 207's and 208,s and HATED them, Would get on the throttle hard out a corner and the tire would spin, I can drift the hell out of a Busa on one of those tires, NEVER had a problem with Bridgestones or Michelin's, Just my 2 cents.
I never cared for the 207's or 208's either. The Q is a completely different animal. Your busa will spin any tire, even race slicks coming out of a corner. As long as you don't go to sleep at the helm, a little excess rotation on corner exits can be entertaining as well as spook that guy in the rear who's trying to pass

Giving credit where credit is due, I think PP's are good tires until you get up near their limits . At that point IMO there are certainly better performing tires available.

So it sounds like the PP2ct has the race compound on the sides?

Anyway, I have to get a few miles out of my tires in a season or go broke keeping shoes on the bike.. I guess that means I have to compromise a bit.. I need to replace my Corsa3's before Spring bash and need to decide on rubber.. why cant this be easier?

For the road or twisties where a guy is not running 10 tenths all the time , these newest Bridgestone BT-021's are looking pretty good for the heavy weight and packed down Busa's . I have always liked and bought Bridgestones anyway .

Scroll to BT-021

At years end I might try the new Dunlop Road Smarts . Both brands have 11/32 tread depth on the rears and are dual compounds front and rear.

Click Road Smart

I ride long distance two up and loaded down if I go at all . Rears are a huge problem for me with the Busa and enough so I have been taking lighter and lower powered bikes for the longer trips leaving a Busa at home and still have to ship a mounted rear to a predetermined destination point .

Road Smart testing . I would hope it is not biased or paid advertising .

The Road Smart looks pretty interesting... hope they price the thing for market entry

Bogus, what's your opinion of the Corsa III's? I have a set on my GSXR1000 at the moment. The Pirelli guys gave me a set to try but haven't had any good weather since to play with them? Was the mileage satisfactory? Stability and grip Okay as well?

Well keeping in mind I am not Vman

and my riding style is certainly not on par with any knee draggers.. more like a 50 year old guy that likes to get in over his head a bit.. I ran somewhere around the middle of the pack in the more technical stuff.. fast enough to have fun but not really pushing the equipment that hard. Never a slip or feeling of being disconnected from the road that I got from the Metzler I ran.

I bought a new set for Fall Bash and they did everything I asked of them and they had plenty left. The 200 miles or so of twisty riding used up about 1/2 of the tread on the sidewalls but that is pretty hard on the gas on exits (my dirt bike days come back with the tail pushing out a bit)

I got 5500 miles out of the rear tire with a lot of highway droning.. (Gap round trip was 2100M in 4 days and PMRA at Captains was 2600M in 4 days)

I am considering this tire again for Spring Bash because I know what it will behave like. I would expect around town the tire mileage is going to be substantially less and most told me they got around 3500M out of the thing

I will say that this is the first tire I have run where I would question my normal 2 rear tires to 1 front tire.. Could be from the Gap ride but the front tire is well past the 50% point of wear. I will probably replace it with the rear regardless..

You guys are confusing the heck out of me. I will be putting new tires on next month. I had planned to install the Pilot Powers, but now I dont know. Maybe the Dunlop Qualifiers. I just want something sticky with moderate mileage. I have had no issues whatsoever with the OEM tires up to this point. But, and I say BUT, if there is a better tire out there than what I am currently running, I want to try a set. I know this has to be a point of view topic. Such as what brand of brake pads, or windscreen, etc. Keep on with the discussion, I am trying to learn about my options. Most know that Juli and I have ridden two up, however, with her getting her own bike, I may be looking to set Sally up for more, single rider action. Thanks guys, carry on!

You won't be unhappy with any of the major high performance street tires. Everyone has their own pet tire it seems, just like brake pads and women. Unless you have exceptional skills and run your tires all the way out to the bitter edge, you most likely can't tell the difference between any of the top performance tires? Buy what you like and what makes you feel confident.

However, if you really want to know what tires work best, when you are out enjoying your scooter on those bright sunny days, watch for the guys you meet that have those little rolled up balls of rubber hanging off the outside edges of their rear tire. Ask those guys for their opinions on tires.

I always pay attention to tires when I meet fellow riders on the road. Tires tell stories and they never lie!

I think I am going to try a set of the new Smarts.... TYD is actually $271.90 my bad, should add prices not discounts...

I think I am going to flip a coin over the Qualifiers and the PP's. Trial and error I suppose.

I am on my 3rd rear PP and 2nd front. No issues with this tire. very good mileage too. 5500-6000 on rear and 10k on fronts. I wont be changing anytime soon.
