The top 7 spots were very hotly contested!!!
The #1 spot was only 1,579 miles more than the #7 spot, a mere pittance considering the amount of miles accumulated!!

So here it is...

The #1 spot, the Mileage King of 2006 is...

<span style='font-size:17pt;line-height:100%'>dm_gsxr</span>
with 20,619 miles

Second place goes to

<span style='font-size:15pt;line-height:100%'>Gunnybusa</span>
with 20416 miles.  If he hadn't ran over a steel tube and bent his rims, he probably would have been #1.

The final step on the podium would have been me if my wife hadn't bought me the new GSXR750

Due to a few reasons, I won't be continuing the mileage challenge for the new year.

If someone else wants to keep it going, let me know and I'll email them the spreadsheet that has everyone on it.

You do know these are miles ridden in 2006, not odo readings right?

Big O has got more than 90,000 miles on his odo

Daayyyumm, I really didn't expect this. I mean, with my shoulder being out of whack since the summer (and I still got a ride in September), starting a work from home job so I don't even get the commuting miles, and with the big snow storm we had here in Denver before Christmas, I've been seriously slacking. I really wanted to hit 60k before the 1st but unfortunately just didn't make it.

Half the miles were two big rides. First the 9,640 mile ride from Denver to Deal's Gap then up through Canada to Labrador and back home. Second, a 2,200 mile ride From Denver to Boise to visit our granddaughter.

Here's looking forward to this year's rides, because it's not the mileage, it's the ride.

I'll leave you with a couple of pics from the rides:

Cape Breton, British Columbia - Heading to the ferry.

Lomond, Gros Morne NP, Newfoundland - Later that same day.

Boise, Idaho - Wife and granddaughter

Nevada - Down in the dirt.

Deal's Gap - See you next year!

Carl

1086 miles in 19 hours, 17 minutes.

I rode on a Colorado Freewheeler's 1000 miles in 24 hours IronButt group ride.

Ride report is over here: http://www.schelin.org/20060819/index.html

The next would be 983 miles on the Labrador ride.

Carl

Way to go, 20,000 miles in one year on a bike is beyond me for many reason, time being the biggest. Anyways look forward to 2007 doing this all over.
