I honestly don't know how they get away with that BS . That looks like it's an independent site but not certain .http://www.performanceoiltechnology...overture&engine=overture!1498&keyword=mobil+1
Check out this article Cuffee.
I don't like how Amsoil markets their oil period and personally will never use it because of that type BS spread about the net .
The TBN of that Mobil oil was over 11 when tested at another lab , 4 ball testing is NOT relevant in a running reciprocating engine and the noack is fluffed up . They have changed their website around but take pen and paper and note test RPM's , duration and temp of all their oils and you'll see where they are using different test parameters to obtain similar numbers in their own engine oil line . It makes weak oils look stronger when using different RPM's and duration of time of the 4 ball wear test .
Independent test he**
Mobil reformulates periodicaly . All the companies do but for the time , from what I've seen the Mobil 15w-50 Extended Performance will top the old red cap oil in protection and longetivety in cars and bikes ...... at less than 5 bucks a quart . It's all about price vs performance and Mobil wins that battle against all comers to include it's own bike specific oil unless used in all out Road Racing and even then it " 5w-30 " does very well in a friends 8 lap sprint bike .
I don't even use the Mobil oil but when I see actual testing to the contrare of whats posted in the Amsoil links it gets me going . They also test their synthetics against plain minerals oils . Thats not quite apples to apples .
I have a link where Redline smokes Amsoil . Funny Amsoil never tests against that oil , Synergyn ect . I'll post it as soon as I find it .
All in my opinion is all
