Mod Friendly Inspection Station

Does anyone know of a Mod friendly bike inspection station in Northern Virginia. My local bike shop won't pass my bike because of my Top Gun Undertail.

But I've seen tons of other Busa's with the same undertail in my area.

So anyone know the best place?

Thanks

Go to a regular auto station. They will pass it. Don't say anything about your bike being inspected elsewhere when your there. Also, go south towards the Woodbridge/Dalecity area. The people down there are alittle more lax on the rules.

Why would an undertail prevent you from passing a safty inspection

? On what basis are they saying it is unsafe

DaCol they said the turn signals had to be at least 9 inches apart, however a quick look online says that Virginia doesn't require turn signals at all, but if I do have them they have to be at least 9 inches.

You have to have a tail light mounted near the rear of your bike and it must turn on when your headlight is on. You also have to have a working rear license plate light. Turn signals are not required, but if you have them they have to work. They should be at least 9 inches apart and 20 inches above ground level.

The auto station inspectors don't always know the little stuff on motorcycle inspections. They will check all your normal stuff and write a sticker. You could ride to any part of Virginia to get your inspection. It doesn't have to be in your area or at a motorcycle shop. The general rule is that you NEVER take a bike to a cycle dealer to be inspected as they will find anything to try to get money from you.

I always take my bike to an Auto station. Actually, the last 3 years i've had no inspection and no tag lights. This was with my lowered&extended orange pearl Busa. I've had cops look my bike over and have been pulled over. Never had a problem. Of course there's always that one LEO that's out for blood and will write up anything.
