My son came to me and asked me if I had seen the Moon with Jupiter and Venus...I went outside and was amazed with what I saw...

I was expecting to see a couple of tiny dots in the sky along with the moon... I was surprised to see Jupiter and Venus so bright and large in the sky...

Been looking at them the last two nights. In my area the planets are enormous and very low in the sky.

Yep, amazing sight...my kids noticed it last night, but tonight we're covered in clouds :(

Thanks for the pics :)

For those of you that love this kind of stuff.... go and load up the Microsoft Virtual Telescope. This is a great tool for the kids and amazing for adults of all ages as well. WorldWide Telescope

Thank you for sharing!! I was sooo upset when I realized I forgot about it. This is really cool.

I love star-gazing.

We took our boy scout troop out last night to look at it. We were adding up the years till we see it again. Oh boy............

It's a long time. Wish I had remembered.....I would have brought Anastasia outside.

I saw it yesterday but didnt know what it was, Learn something new every day.

Thanks.

you need a little astral projection... you can travel there nightly...

Can't be Jupiter that's at the edge of the solar system, just too far away too look that big to the naked eye. Could be Mars?

Interesting... it takes us over 6 years to get a spacecraft to Jupiter(Galileo, which I was a member of the flight team for 2.5 years) and some order of weeks to get to Venus(Magellan which I only charged about 20 hours to, prior to launch). Venus is SO much closer.
The conditions would have to be downright phenomenal to see them near to each other in the sky.
