Yes that is when pretty much everything as we know it will end.


2012 will be a planetary alignment. no one knows how it will affect the earth, but since the moon affects our oceans through gravitaional means, I am guessing gravitational forces could be easily affected by an alignment of all the planets.

And currently scientists are predicting that the earths magnetic field is due to flip flop in… well at any time. The flip flop happens every I think 750,000 years. They are seeing signs of the magnetic field weakening and I think it is magnetic north scientists say is moving faster and faster each year. During the flip flop (which could take 100 to 1000 years) we will have a minimum magnetic field protecting the earth which will allow more radiation to penetrate to the earths surface. Scientists again are not really sure what the affect will be on life. Other than birds, bees and other animals have like these built in compasses that are going to get whacked.
