More mods....to the R1

[vman1300]

The R1 is hands down the worst on mid-range of the big four's liter bikes. The 5 valve head on the older models, 04-06 and even with the new 4 valve head on the 07.

It is noticable, especially when compared to a Busa. Most of the R1's I have ridded are all piped, mapped and a few other mods. The stocker I have is VERY soft up until 8k or so. Take a look at any 04-06 dyno and look at the dip at 7k rpm.

Most all full systems, with custom mapping will add 15-20 RWHP in the 7k range. Combined with some slight gearing along with pipe and PC3, the R1 will be close to a modded GSXR, ZX10.....

I am going to run a off the shelf map from Dynojet until I can get some dyno time....

Threadjack in progress. VMan, someone has to help the economy. I'm trying but I mod one and two others get jealous. Then I have to work OT and have no time to ride. It's just not right to have dirtbikes as clean as my Busa! No time to ride anything.
