MotoGP 2018

Wasn’t Pedrosa the one who crashed out his team rider when they were both with Ducati?
No He never rode for Ducati, but he infamously took out Nicky Hayden at Estoril the second to last race of the season in 2006 and nearly cost him his MotoGP title that year.

Don't know but it must be up there, though I do know they run a super short stroke of around 48.5mm(1.9")to get those 17,250+ rpms.I wouldn't have thought Marquez would've been able to bump start his bike last week if it were too high unless they have some kind of decompression release like my Honda CRF 450R dirt bike(which is centrifugal and runs off of the cam).

gotta be over 15

I know there's a trade off somewhere before higher compression causes too much heat in a bike that runs flat out for 40 minutes and say a 1/4 mile machine where total run time may be a minute but damned if I know where the cut off limit is(and those damned Moto GP teams really hide what's in those motors,bastids:D).Crap,4:13AM now and off to work with a 50 mile freeway commute each way, talk to ya later.

I hear they are 250-280 hp..... from 1000ccs... NA........ amazing stuff...... I think some day we will get to see a turbo class of motorcycles..... the crashes would leave us breathless

It's no longer about turbo's or more horsepower. It's all about electronics managing the amount of power applied together with rider skill, towards maintaining control and preserving tire wear.

unfortunately this is where the future of the sport lies.

I think there is a limit to how fast you can go and still race. Even with cars they have to slow them down to improve racing. So I am with Jelly on this, it's about controlling the power they have, aerodynamics, and the unfortunate rise of battery technology.
motogp bikes are limited by swingarm length... 300 hp can EASILY be controlled with a lil length...

lol.. ure right.. its impossible to use 280 hp..........

its important that u understand that IF A RIDER HID A BOTTLE somewhere.... providing he had a long straightaway.... he would be FASTER than those using the na bikes.... 4/5/6th gear.... a person can use 300 plus hp.... at the current length.... electronics have their limitations too... its important u understand that... power is power....700 hp bikes run 6's in the quarter mile..... the old fashioned way.... a few with SPRAY... NONE ARE NA

This is what I believe, perhaps I am wrong, but I really believe this.

Any MotoGP circuit of your choice, you on your 600hp stretched Busa and Brad Binder on a 52hp 250cc Moto 3 bike. He will produce better lap times than you all day long.

lol...... of course.. ITS STRETCHED and built specific for straight ahead speed..... but a motogp class that allows FI would produce faster bikes.
