After the 1st and 2nd free practice...

it doesn't look promising

Edwards and Rossi are fast, top 2 riders in both sessions.

Rossi is gonna hafta start really running on to come back from his non-class and that 14th; It'll be interesting to see how Nicky does in qualifying....
I would really like to see Hopper finally pull in a podium spot.... he is riding the tires off of the GSV - His confidence is high after that 4th he pulled down last week!

I would like to see the podium as Vale, Hopper and Dani (Colin a close 4th)

I'm rooting for the Tornado and Hopper. Nicky has some work to do.

Rossi has a new chasis and it has no chatter. Hmmmm, are we going to see 5 wins in a row??

I would like to see that. I understand that a lot of people are tired of him winning, but it is always exciting to see him ride a bike about as close to its capabaility as is possible....

Notice that Hopper pulled the best Top speed in the practice? I think he is maturing as a rider (which is great because of the tweeking they are doing with his GSV - he is definately leaving Chris behind....)

I was reading that Jeremy Burgess said LeMans is not a real big chatter inducing track just because it is so stop and go and not really any high speed corners to load the chassis to the point of chatter. That also makes it the easiest track to set up for on the whole MotoGP circuit. Rossi is the only one that got the new chassis and Colin is faster than him in one session, which might support that claim. Hayden will be there at the end. Maybe not a win but he is riding well at every track now. Pure determination to make a fight out of this thing will push him to the front. I heard Rossi has been playing games with him and painted up a sticker of his dog to say -32 which is how many points behind Hayden he is. Hopkins is continuing to impress too! Even top Bridgestone runner so far! Should be a good race. My Mother in law is on town so I’ll probably have to record it and watch it later.

Where did you hear that? That's the kinda behind the scenes info I'd like to read too.

Come on, share your source

Read it on Superbike planet.

"Vale altered the decal of his pet bulldog Guido which adorns the seat hump of his Yam to show the hound in an icy scene wearing arctic survival gear with the caption '-32', a reference to the number of points by which he trails championship leader Nicky Hayden."

I see Stoner is fastest in Wet practice today. And Junior second!

Man where did that little punk pick up all that speed from the first session??? Boys got skills for sure. Be interesting to see if Rossi or Edwards gets away clean!

Well not too bad for Nicky, 5th. Hopefully he can get rid of the flu before the next race...

I really feel for Rossi, 3 sec lead and his engine goes south
wow.gif
sad.gif
! He's really going to have to do something unbelieveable to win this year, and I don't think even he can pull out a 40 point deficit
rock.gif
. Nicky is still in the lead, but just barely, so I hope he can get it going again
cool.gif
. And Hoppy, man just bad luck on the front end tucking in that sloooow corner, he looked really good and in control up to that point

The only way for Rossi to come back from that kind of deficit is for Hayden and Melandri and Capirossi to have a three bike dump and not classify, in two different races...
Is it just me, or has he maybe given up this year?

Nah, I wouldn't count him out yet.

He has the talent to win almost every race.

But this does look good for Nicky!!

He needs a couple wins and he'll have the championship
