Hopkins was actually impressive for the first part of that race. He had a podium spot and just lost the front. The Suzuki is running like someone waved a magic wand over it lately! Hope they get it sorted out in time for Spies to move to MotoGP next year! That kid is for real man! Schwantz' protege' seems to have listened to the old master and is on a tear!Hopkins 15th!After that nice 4th last week and a great stand up wheelie over the finish line ... must be the ears...
Well your in luck!Rossi always won his championships by over 50 points lead, so from now he (meaning his BIKE ) just has to perform like before.. thats all. He simply had bad luck during this season, DNF ni 3 out of 5 races. 1st he was hit in the 1st turn, can happen to anybody, then he had his front tire damaged , not his fault either.. and then the engine stopped when he was leading on nearly 4 seconds.
Im a Rossi fan since his 125 days, and Im sure that if Yamaha sorts out all of their problems, he will be the champion again.
Hayden looks stupid on top of the standings without a single race win. Its like Emilio Alzmamora back in 1999 or something when he won the 125GP title without a single race win, and Melandri (if im not mistaken) was 2nd but he had lots of wins (but also many crashes).
I think they should change the rules so a rider cant win a title if he doesnt have a race win, no matter how many points hes got.
I mean im sure Nicky will win at least one race this season, but at this stage now it looks stupid. that was my point.
Jin
I met him at the AMA championships last year and he is a great person to talk to, not at all full of himself....You can bet that Yamaha are burning the midnight oil to (A) fix the bike they have and (B) Keep him on next year. Rossi will be back next year if for no other reason than to say that he had conquered every type (125, 250, 500, 990, 800) of GP Bike he ever rode. He lives for that sort of stuff.
Did anyone see the write up on Ben Spies in Motorcycle Daily a few days ago? Apparently he has already been approached by some teams for a ride in MotoGP next year or in the very near future. I am rapidly becoming a fan of this kid.
