Hey killer, I lived in Detroit my entire life prior to joining the military. Best bet, try Allstate or State Farm. The key with them will be playing with the numbers. Another issue is going to be Detroit, once they hear the city the rate is automatically pegged to the moon. I lived on the east side of Detroit, was 21 at the time, perfect driving record, and had car and homeowners insurance through State Farm and was paying nearly $3,000 per year because it was the city. Best bet is having your address changed to outside the city, i.e. family member who lives outside Detroit. Use their address, police officers and teachers do it all the time seeing they have to live within the city in order to work their, part of the union contract.
