Mototeck undertail - group buy

ok  before i blow anything up. who has a a pic wiht all the wiring connected to the stock plug? i cant get anything to light up.
do you have a multimeter.. or some kind of tester.. safest way. test while you turn signals or press brake.. guess you could (somewhat reliable) make a cheap version out of wires and a small flashlight bulb.

I got mine yesterday as well. tail is in great shape and even got an extra tail light lens. I did get a clear license plate bracket eventhough i requested a black one. Ill bug them about that later when eveybody has they tails. Going to put it on today and try to use the cam corder when cutting off the storage area.
i will check into this.. will let you know.. possibly the default one that comes with the undertail.

never mind   i got it.  im a dumbass.  brown goes to red.
i am going to use a multimeter just to be safe.. when i was installing my alarm.. TurboTorch pointed out that different colors for wiring for different years.. so be careful. a cheap mulitimeter is around 5 to 7 bucks from walmart

Good news is I have talked to Moto teck and they are sending me a new tail . I sent them about 30 different pics of the cracked one .

Here is the solution to the problem .....move the tag to the swingarm

I just thought of something that might help with the bracket to keep from anyone else cracking their undertail.... maybe putting some kind of piece of rubber ( or what ever you can get that might be soft and plyable) between the bracket and undertail to help cusion the tension between them when you tighten it down... it should help instead of having two hard surfaces being smashed together you would have a "gasket" to help distribute the pressure between the two.... just an idea and i will be doing something like this myself after seeing these pictures...

Maybe a nylon washer. Or if you know someone who is a printer, maybe they could get you an old printing blanket. These have a thin rubber surface with a fabric backing.

Yeah , Mototeck said they used to send out the rubber washers with the kits , but they stopped a while back . So now because of my problem , they said they will start to include them again . At least I'll have an extra set of LED's now .......they said to just keep the cracked tail . Good company to deal with !!
