Second, what does the TAP, TAP, TAP mean in your orginial post? I don't remember anything about TAP when I took the course in Florida. Sorry if it is a newb question.

Tap, Tap, Tap, is refering to the gears. They are trying to get us in the habit of always tapping your gears down to 1st when you come to a stop, so that you can be ready to go in case of an emergency (hasty exit).

Let me jump on the congratulations wagon! Nowthen, (looking down, around and skyward) just how big is that figure 8? Gotta get up north where there are some roads w/curves; down here in Phoenix it's all straights.

Well their figure 8 was alot smaller than the crazy drunken one I was doing!!!! I will conquer that 8 one of these days!!!! Seriously I believe the box was 20 ft? I asked the instructor about practicing that in the parking lots and he said it was the equivalent of 2 marked parking spaces. Everyone else in my class got it.
