Muslims and police event :)

The police officers involved in the arrests should all be written up for direliction of duty. They had a first class oppurtunity to beat the living daylights out of some Muslims and they didn't use excessive force!! These guys were wimps. They should never be allowed near a patrol car again. Oh well, what would I expect from fellow gutless Americans.......

???
Spkrdctr folks like you that continue the cycle of hatred with comments like that.

Headgear ban sparks melee between police, Muslim park patrons – CNN Belief Blog - CNN.com Blogs

“(The rule) didn’t get relayed to the people who attended, so some people got upset,†said Westchester County Police Capt. Thomas Gleason.

Zead Ramadan, spokesman for the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), said members of the Muslim American Society who had organized the outing asked him to come to the park to mediate. Ramadan said the women felt they had been targeted by park employees because of their religious views.

“They’re the most obvious Muslims around because they have hijabs on. They felt they were discriminated against,†Ramadan said.

“Maybe there was a level of frustration that went around across the board,†Ramadan said. “Then you have the parks people who are trying to explain this and do their job.â€

Ramadan said he saw a cell-phone video showing police “yanking a hijabi-wearing woman out of the crowd.â€

“She was very small. They turn her around and throw her down on the ground.†Ramadan said that’s when the crowd got very angry.

Gleason said he had seen seen “bits and pieces†of phone footage from the incident.

He said park officials told the Muslim organizers about the headgear ban but that information wasn’t relayed to the group of visitors.

Ramadan chalked the whole incident up to “miscommunication.â€

“The women felt they were being targeted, but in fact these were safety precautions,†he said. “And maybe (the park) didn’t do the best job in disclosing those precautions.â€

The rules are there and yes everyone should abide by them without exception but it seems these rules may have not been relayed up front to the masses. Upon arriving they got upset. Seems like they even started fighting amongst themselves (typical) and police were called in to calm the situation.

'calling all cars, calling all cars! Muslim riot at the park, hurry!'

Cops probably didn't know the story or reason before they arrived to find a large group of pissed off Muslims.
So the situation most likely escalated out of control before anyone knew it.

I just wonder if a bunch of folks from Wisconsin showed up with cheesehead gear on top, got upset and started same situation if it would be as big news as the Muslim thing is making it? Or maybe a group of texans upset about not being able to ride with their hats on? Would it have been looked at in same light?

Ride Safety (back to top)
Please follow these simple ride safety tips when riding. Additional precautions should be taken by parents and guardians who supervise smaller or younger children.
• Know you and your child's capabilities in determining whether or not a particular ride is appropriate.
• Watch the ride in operation before riding - make sure you/your child are comfortable with it and can ride it safely.
• Observe the height lines and read and follow all ride safety signs. These are posted at each ride and throughout the park to ensure safety.
• Smoking, food, gum and drinks are NOT allowed on rides or ride lines as they pose safety and choking hazards.
• Loose articles and personal possessions such as electronic devices, keys, hats, glasses, backpacks, purses and stuffed animals should be left at home, kept in a locker or left with a non-rider while at the Park or on rides. Lockers are provided for a fee, and some rides provide shared bins. All items and clothing must be appropriately secured while on a ride; some smaller items can be stored/secured in cargo pockets or waist pouches. Hats must be secured, and jackets/sweaters must be worn properly and not around the waist while on a ride. Some rides do not allow backpacks, purses or head gear of any kind.
• Fasten safety equipment and demonstrate appropriate behavior while on the ride and ride lines. Line jumping may result in ejection from the Park with no refund. Be sure to use seatbelts and all safety equipment such as shoulder harness, lap bar or chain. Keep hands, arms, legs and feet inside the ride. Follow the instructions from the ride operator and stay seated at all times. The Ride Operator
will instruct you on how, when and where to exit a ride.
• Designate an easily recognizable place to meet your child/party, once the ride is over.
• No one is allowed to ride alone on Gondola and Ye Old Mill.
• Never enter any ride that you are uncomfortable with… WHEN IN DOUBT, DON'T RIDE!

Who would be leading the march if they were white, redneck or republican?:moon:

Besides, I don't think 100 cops would stand a chance against 3000 (insert race or creed here) blacks.:beerchug:

3000 divided by 100 is 30. 30 rounds each should be 2 mags. Worse comes to worst.

I just wonder if a bunch of folks from Wisconsin showed up with cheesehead gear on top, got upset and started same situation if it would be as big news as the Muslim thing is making it? Or maybe a group of texans upset about not being able to ride with their hats on? Would it have been looked at in same light?

I am sure 30 people have enough money to buy cheap cowboy hats or anything else to try it out.
