Hi guys...long time since I've been on here; been so busy.

I'm replacing the fuel filter on my Mustang and like an idiot, I didn't think to pay attention to which way it went on. I'm thinking the flat side of it faces toward the driver side of the car, but before I install it that way, any Mustang owners care to verify that for me? :)

Also, any tricks to getting the air out of the fuel line?

Figured I'd save some time and ask here first...you guys and gals are the best!!

No 'flow' arrows on it ?

Also depending on what year it is I think when you turn the key and system primes itself the air will come out anyway ?

Not sure .

Depending on the year, if it is FI, and and you let the pressure out of the sys. before replacing the filter, it should be able to self purge before you start up the first time.

Be sure to turn key to position of just before you engage starter, you will hear the pump working.

After you get her going, be sure to look everywhere you loosened the system for fuel leaks!

Nope, no flow arrows on the old filter our the new one...

It's a '95 GT

It's injected (if stock) so do as Stroker suggested once assembled. Any markings, dirt, scratches on the old one to determine which way it was on?

Nope...each end looks the same on the old one and it was enclosed in a metal bracket, so markings are on that bracket and not the filter itself...

Hoping someone with an older Mustang like mine can just look under the car, next to the gas tank, and tell me if the crimped end of their fuel filter is facing the driver's side of the car... :)

Maybe, it doesn't matter which way it goes own

After All, MAYBE  it's Ford Simplicity at it's BEST

Why Chevy makes a Vette so Complicated I'll NEVER understand ???

for a '98 but should be close enough:

if its fi there is usually a bleed valve up on top of the injection area. it looks like a air valve connection...that way you can put on a pressure guage to see pressure...if you hold that in (watch eyes) and have someone turn the key so pump kicks in...it will bleed till fuel squirts out.

I just popped it out and popped it back in on my 98gt didn't mess with any relief valves didn't have any problems just needed the fuel line lock tools I use the plastic ones they are easier to get in and out:beerchug:

The '95 didn't require that tool...I already popped the old filter off, just need someone to look at their Mustang filter and tell me which way the crimped end of the filter faces - toward the driver side of the car, or the passenger side...

The non crimped end is the inlet and the crimped end is the outlet which should face the drivers side if i remember correctly.

50/50 is right; I did same thing back when I had a '95. there's only one way it will work. Put her on there, and if it works, you're golden. If not, flip it around. No big deal.

use a scewdriver and a rag around it to catch the spray of fuel also, oops i see you already have it done cool, awesome job!!!
