Mustang vs bike

To start off this will be at a drag strip! My buddy's cousin bought a 2004 mustang last fall. Over the winter he put a 300hp shot of nitrous on it. Now he wants to race my buddy's 2002 Yamaha r1 and my 2001 hayabusa. I have never drag raced before. Will this be a walk in the park or is there something I should practice or look out for? This will be done safely and in fun :D

Should be a pretty easy cruise after he blows up:laugh:

Just practice your launch and throttle control. It will spin on ya if ya just twist away in 1st and 2nd, maybe 3rd, cant remember, been awhile since i went down the strip. Thats the extent of my knowledge:laugh:

What all is done to the car?

Also your track allows bikes and cars to race side by side? None of ours will for safety reasons.

not sure its a track about 3 hrs north of me by his house. what would be unsafe?

If the car loses control and hits a motorcycle racer, the rider is most likely KIA. The track could have some liability in an incident like that.

hopefully, he didn't stick that kind of a shot in a stock Mustang...if he did, let the R1 go first and there won't be enough parts left intact to go down the track again...if he built the rest of the car the way it should be to handle that kind of power, don't bet any $ on the outcome!! most importantly, stay safe and have fun :beerchug:

with 300 NOS he should be well in the 10s so you need to learn how to launch

If the car is set up right and he can drive, if you can't ride your toast.

From my dunce stool :cookoo:

No money just beers for when we hit the bar afterwards. Its all in good fun but going to give it my best to defend the busa name. I want to race my buddy's r1 to shut him up :D

track officials wont allow bikes and cars to line up against each other at the drag strip. not that I havnt seen it happen but its very rare
