My CBX is gone

A friend of mine had a CBX for years, he came upon another one for sale and snapped it up, only then did he realise his original one was slower and vibrated more...

He took the engine out for a re-fresh and found one piston and connecting rod missing. I guess the previous owner had a problem and fixed it by turning it into a 5 cylinder...he put around 40,000kms on that bike missing a piston...that's an testament to how tough they were.
 
That's a good question...he was surprised by this too so I figure he didn't. It actually ran pretty good and if he never bought the other one, he probably would have never knew the difference...
 
I got home on four cylinders one time when a coil went south. Still ran smooth, just not very powerful. My 82 X had a smoother running motor and dynoed at 5 more ponies than my 79 which was kinda rough until I twisted the grip.:cool:
