Thanks guys.Will be rolling my own once I burn through the Hornady factory stuff.This one's called a Ruger Hawkeye Long Range Target(released this year)and the way it sits now is almost 15 lbs.(with the heavy 26" barrel)so pretty much for the bench or prone.Came with a Ruger muzzle brake(which was probably fine)but the one on it now came from Australia and just timed it last night.Even in 300 Win Mag the recoil will be negligible since the gun's so heavy.Scope is a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50 and a decent quality bipod,right now I'm into it for about $3200(and add another $1000 for the ammo and other accessories).If I do my part and with a good handload should be capable of .5 MOA at a 100 yards,but really shines out at 1000 yards+(gonna have Red set up some targets on the roof of his house).

He says 24" barrel but it's actually a 26";

I had a Ruger American 308 for a while. Was a great rifle. Spec'd nicely from the factory for a sub-$600 rifle. Free float barrel and a 1:10 twist rate. My next build will be a Savage 110.

That's reaching out at that distance, I'd be interested to know what round he is using.

I use Hornady SST rds in 7.62 and they can really reach out, they are rated at 3600 fp
