My problem with the HID system that I had on my Gen 1 was that you could not flip between low and high beam without a cool down delay. I am still on the fence about installing them on my Gen 2.

Work great.
I can't use HID due to a headlight modulator.

I've used PIAAs in my Gen 1 ever since I got the bike. No problems, plenty bright, love 'em.
