I just watched a documentary on a famous Kiwi, Bruce McLaren and he said his first real race was when he was 16 on the beach in Muriwai west of Kumeu. Beautiful country!

Sure is a shame you have to ride on such crowded roads!

It's a PITA about the traffic, one car every 10 minutes, it just ruins the experience!!!

What makes it a beautiful country is the LACK of people, only 900,000 in the South Island, shhhhhhh, don't tell anyone.

There were more people in the city I moved from, San Jose, than that and a full metropolis heading north into and beyond San Francisco for a hundred miles. Any clue why I moved to the Sierra foothills? Nothing but two lanes...everywhere!
