Ron, what suit is that you're wearing? How do you like it for summertime ridingand of course what did it put you back?

The jacket is a first gear. Nice jacket, it comes with a removable cold weather liner. It has 2 zipper pockets on the front and two zippered pockets on the back and the inside has leather with holes in it. So when you have all the zippers unzipped, it allows air to flow in the front and out the back providing some nice cooling.

The jacket if I remember was about $350.00

The pants are HJC's I purchased them from New Enough on the web.. newenough.com there were a closeout item, normally $369.00, picked them up for $189.00 they were brand new.

The boots I purchased about 2 years ago and I think they ran me about $200.00

The Icon TiMax Gauntlets were $130.00

And the helmet was I believe $350.00 on sale.

So roughly everything total is about $1219 (roughly)

But I did not buy all this current gear at once, basically it was upgrading piece by piece from older gear.

The gear is great for riding. I guess it all depends on how you handle heat. I don’t seem to be affected by extreme temperatures much.

I have worked on flight lines in 110 weather and the tarmac has been about 125 degrees, I have worked in extreme heat conditions with high humidity, I have also been in extreme cold conditions.

I only mention this because heat and cold don’t seem to bother me like it does other people, not sure why but I think it might have to do with my past.

But as an example, this weekend I drove to Santa Cruz from the central valley. In the valley the temp has been in the mid 90’s I didn’t even break a sweat, even when I was standing still. When I stopped to get gas I was in the shade, and as long as I am moving and I have my zippers unzipped and the jacket sleeves unzipped, I can be in 105 and not sweat while I am moving..

I think anyone that wears leathers will get used to it. I think it might be a little uncomfortable at first, but once you get used to wearing them in the heat you should be good to go.

I can tell you one thing, I would much rather being laying on hot asphalt inside of leathers than laying on hot asphalt with my skin melting to it.

If you are interested in gear, check out http://www.newenough.com
They have just about any kind of gear you need, including spine protectors. And the prices seem real good and they have a closeout section that often have equipment at a
30 - 50% discount.

Hope this helps

Thanks Ron.

I like those gloves. Almost bought a pair when I got my busa. Almost bought a pair last week, too, but the shop I found 'em in wanted $167 plus tax... If I get 'em I'll order them from newenough. Nice gear. Someday I will be as well prepared as you.
