My short lived turbo experience.

It's not the turbo or anything, i think in reality i want to go back to a bigbore or stock engine Busa with a full system.  I had more fun riding my 1397 bike the other day than anytime i was on the turbo bike. I like the turbo for the power, but once you hit the boost a few dozen times the novilty starts to wear off and the dump pipe is alittle too loud for me. Since i'm not a fan of a turbo with a full pipe on it, I've come to realize that i would be better suited with a turbo Busa as a second bike. Not as my only rider.

Funny thing is, 5-10years ago i would of been all about the noise and everything performance, but as i get older i find myself appreciating different aspects of motorcycling. I'd rather bling something out more than making it all out fast. Or maybe even building a cool corner carver.

Thanks for the help from the turbo crowd.

The times change, I am sure it was an experience getting there, and now you know what you want. Sounds like the begining of another project. Enjoy!

you have a malady that affects many old time racers and tuners...

after enough years of tweaking, tuning and running full out with hight strung hyper performing stuff and all the headaches that come with them...

a trouble free, stock daily driver looks REALLY good... the fact that this ultra reliable stocker can run 9's is simply fantastic!

And the best part is, that super tricked out hotrod can still sit in the garage for those "need for speed" moments

I know what your saying thats how come I have 2 bikes the turbo busa that runs as smooth as stock out of boost in boost it's got more than a 100 HP overstock, better half won't ride on it she rides with me on the Harley Ultra Classic

I feel you, my dumps are really loud. I plan, someday to get another bike to ride everyday, & take the Turbo Busa out when I really need a rush! Good Luck!

I wish I could make mine louder, and it needs MORE power! I wish I were where you are now in regards to your desire to just ride for the ride. I'd spend a lot less $ and enjoy more seat time.

Don't get me wrong, i'd like to try out a 400 or 500hp stage2 Busa but i don't have that kinda cash.

Its actually not too loud, its just not a nice sound, very happy right now with my bike with Ackropovic cans.

I've been thinking of an 08' with a full Hindle system.

It is always interesting to get there. I still love my turbo but have a cruiser and a scooter to boot. I am looking for something to do 300mph (seriously) for my next step.
