My son has been looking for a good bike at a good price
and after quite a bit of searching...he found both.

Kawasaki 440 LTD

Local mom and pop dealer...dealer put on brand new tires
reworked the carb, fresh coat of paint (nice job to btw)....7000 miles total
$1,200

Great looking bike, nice find.

Thing will pay for itself in gas.

Congrats! It's a good place to start and learn. Maybe one day he'll be ready to follow in Dad's footsteps on his way to a Busa.

I remember when those were brand new, tough as nails they were. This kid I worked with bought one something like that back in the middle 80's, rode it to work every day as long as there wasn't more than 6" of snow on the ground. Feet out like outriggers, through the snow and slush he went, never dropped it once that I ever knew of.
Great old bikes.

Well actually no, not his first. He had a yzf 600 (2002 I think) and that actually turned me from the fat boy I thought I wanted and vaulted me into the sport bike world..where I landed on a Busa.

He sold the yzf a couple years ago, and I think it's been killing
him not to ride.

Sweet! Those have belt drive too right?

The guy said some were belt, some were chain...this ones chain.

What's kinda neat is my first bike was a '78 honda hawk 400
This bike is very similar and brings back a lot of memories.
Couse his LTD is much more stylish.

My girl friend years ago started out on that bike. Then a year later she picked up a new Suzuki Intruded 800. Had me drive it home she was to nervous.
