In Canada the fines and resultant insurance increases are huge. I've had my fair share of run ins with the boys in blue and for the last 10 years have always taken the tickets to court. Turns out, I win most of the time. I don't think anyone should pay a fine - ever. I think everyone should take it to court, every time. The court doesn't care about the fine, they care about the system of justice - and it is whacked..... I drive almost 100,000km every year so I pass a lot of cruisers. I've had 9 tickets in the last 10 years and only twice did I have to pay the full amount.
