I do know how to ride quite well so training wheels is wrong.... and right. Crazy hit the nail on the head, its to center the bike at stops. It's "landing gear" for a busa. they do make them Wings and H.D's but not for sports bike.
See, in 2009 I was on a 4 day bike trip on my 05 Busa and just about home, 10k to be exact. I was leading the way doing the speed limit (80kph) when I came behind a slow moving gravel truck on a single lane highway. Little did I know he didn't have any working brake or signal light, so I signeled to pass and when I was 60ft behind him, he turned dead left in front of me to turn down a dirt road. I went into a endo and hit him head first. I broke 10 bones, 5 of them where vertibra, I spend 5 months in hospital and was paralyzed from my armpits down.
When I first got out of the Hospital I bought a Canam Spyder and modified that so I can ride it with just my arms. No problem but I soon found out I would have been better off with a convertable car cause it's the same thing. I sold it and just picked up the 07 busa in the pic. Thank god for great friends and family cause a buddy fabricates all day at work and I told him and showed him a Youtube vid of other paraplygic riding again and he jumped all over it and designed that system from scratch and that part of it is almost done. But we do have a bunch of other work to do to it for me to ride it.
Like
Pingel electric shifter
Rear thumb brake
lower it to make it easier to transfer from my wheelchair onto it.
A Racing 905 crash cage incase the landing gear doesn't come down at a stop so not only does it save the bike it save my legs from being fractured
and a few other modification to make it easier and comfortable for me.
It sucks having everything taken away so every little thing that you can do that you did before the accident feels amazing. So buy good quality gear cause it saved my life. Shoei RF1000 bucket, a-star racing leather and gloves and boots and on and on. I will try to update this thread and keep you posted on the progress we make. Here is the thread my wife posted a couple months after my wreck. The bike doesn't look that bad off.
