My wife just told me I can buy the 05 Busa!!

Well i spoke with the dealer today. He said the buzz is actually a 1500 cc busa AND zx 12. So i dont know might be worth it . Heard the 1000 class will remain virtually unchanged

200cc increase...I don't know that seems alot...Anyway if the Busa only has the cosmetic changes that have shown in some of the mags it will be worth considering the swap...

Really ?? ... I talk with my salesman at least once a week an he knows that I'm a member of this forum. Last week, he asked me "so what's the scuttle butt on the new '05" ... that tells me that they won't have a real clue until the dealer's show just like us. 1500cc ... it's going to be tricky keeping the temps down under all of the plastic fairings. Oh well just a few more weeks and we'll know for sure ... hang in there!

The dealer told me this. The zx 12 motor was used in some kawi wave runner the stx or something. Now he tells me he just recieved a new model eave runner that has been stroked and bored to a 1500 cc motor. He HAS A FEELING THAT IS THE NEW ZX 12 MOTOR OR WHATEVER THEY WILL CALL IT. so HE FEELS THE BUSA WILL DO THE SAME OR similar to stay competitive. So that was his reasoning.

Kawasaki has had the wave runner with the ZX-12 stroked to a 1396 or so out for several years now I believe. They stroked that motor strictly for the wave runner since water takes way more power to move across than land. I think they would have put it in the 12 already if that was the plan.....they're prolly just making it bigger to compete in the water wars. Sometimes bigger isn't better when it comes to streetbikes. I think if Suzuki wants to take the busa down the sportbike path they would squeeze some extra ponies out of the 1300 and trim down/compact it. But if they want to take more of the sport touring path then bumping up the engine size might make more sense, along with more comfy ergos and some better passenger seating and luggage capabilities. I suspect they might go down the sportbike path myself......buts its gonna be interesting to find out

and I'm pretty sure Kawasaki will take the 12R on the sportbike diet...they already have the ZZR-12 for the sport touring crowd. just my .02

Dude, Sounds like the dealer is jerkingyour chain...

As for the 05 Busa and Hype? Man don't get sucked into the hype and press BS... Fug it, if your diggin your 02' keep the 02' the 05 will likely not be significantly different in terms of performance or weight. Suzuki has no real reason to mess with the formula, so more than likely the 05 Busa is going to be Identical to the 02 Busa with a few different colors..

I would keep the '02 since it's the fastest color, unless they do something really different (like 1500cc) for 05.
