Napolean Dynamite

I've seen the movie. I took the Quiz. I have teenagers.

I scored as Napolean Dynamite at 62%.

Does this mean that after all this time I am STILL a nerd?

If you watch it, you'll think to yourself, "what was that all about?"

I'm curious, will any of you admit to watching it? I have an excuse, I have teenagers.

If you have seen it, take this quiz and see which character you are. Quiz
I'll admit to watching the movie (as I have teenagers as well) however...I refuse to take the test.

But...I will admit to getting a charge out of the movie.

It was cool...the epitomy of mediocracy as comic relief...nothing less than billiant and...done on a shoestring and a prayer...hats off to the creators and participants who blew through the beaurocracy of hollywood and risked all to offer up a box office hit.

My favorite lines?

Napoleon:

"If that were my bike I'd take it off a sweet jump."

Pedro:

"Vote for me and all your wildest dreams will come true."

Vote for Pedro...L8R, Bill.

I forgot to mention, my quiz results put me as Pedro,

which is good, he's my favorite character.

"Why don't you build her a cake or something"
"You frickin idiot! Grooooooooosh"
"Tina, eat the food you fat lard"

I just rode through Preston Idaho this afternoon. My dad grew up there. A lot of the people that live there are offended. They think the movie is making fun of them. I told a lady today not to take it that way. Everyone I know is reminded of someone from school. Every school has a person that is like Napolean.

I didn't think it was very good....
I don't think I would give it a good or a bad, it's just different. There's something 80's ish about it.

Yep...and I guess it's one of those "Guess Ya Hadta Be There" situations....and obviosly some of us were and some of us weren't but...I'll stand by this following statement...

As lame as Napoleon was portrayed?...as compared to "nowadays"?....the coolest of the cool....ebonics speaking white kids...who wear their baggy shorts 1/2 way down their @$$ with their underwear showing and ballcaps on sideways...tats, body piercings, bling bling golden grills and all...driving around in 1/2 primer gray $1,500 pregnant roller-skate ricer cars with $5,000 worth of stolen stereo equipment and Walmart spinners make Napoleon Dynamite look like a brain child by comparison.

I saw the movie a few times. Thought it was okay the 1st time and it got funnier each time thereafter. It really is a subtly funny flick.

This statement is so very true. The first time I saw it, I was curiously amused. Since then, I laugh harder each time I see or talk about it.

In my school, that was me.

The movie was okay. In many ways, too much like my own childhood which I'd just as soon forget.

Bleah.
