First off hello all this is my second /third post

Ok hear is my problem i purchased a a rf 1000 shoei with my first bike it worked well it was a standared.

Now with the Busa the helmet feels like an AIR BREAK on a jet. When i gun it the helmet in sucked ageienst my face. the helmet is touching my head it does not feel safe at all.

My question is there a longer helmet out there that will help with lower chin contact.

(spelling) i know

Thanks chris

I have a 1000 with the same issue, have you thought about getting new pads to get the snug fit back?

Also I would say tuck in so you don't catch all the wind on your face.

As far as a longer lid, I have noticed that the full face with the flip up front seem a little longer.

Thanks A friend of mine said that ARAI used to make a longer thiner style but he is not sure if it still produced . He bought it many years ago..

Thanks for the help

In addition to a different helmet, a double bubble style windshield may help you alot, it did for me. That mod won't set you back a huge amount of cash either, about $70. Almost forgot,

to the org. You will find lots of great folks here.

My first impression would be to try the next size down.

Or try an Arai. They have some varying shapes for various head shapes.

Other than that, I dunno.

Do you keep the chinstrap tight? I didn't at first but when I started cinching it good and tight I didn't have any movement issues- when loose it felt like the wind was sucking it off my head. Cheekpads are replaceable on the 1000, might help a bit, but this will help the most and looks great...

I am going to try the double bouble will take a ride and order one tommorow . Good excuse to take her out . I will look into the ARAI when i am in Datona . Gota love the Helmetshop

Thanks again

My first recommendation is you need to be tucked down behind the windscreen.

On the Busa when you are doing high speeds to where your face mask is pusing against your face your are not tucked enough.

As was mentioned, if you cant tuck behind the stock windscreen go for a double bubble.

Your head taking the wind is no good, it will cut down on top end times, and even if you did get a decent helmet, your neck is going to take a lot of abuse and strain.

The wind force at 160+ is enough to pull you off the bike for example if you were tucked and popped up and not ready for it..

Just my .02

(kawiboy11 @ Dec. 26 2006,17:09) I'm not a big fan of Shoe, I had a good one, and it was junk!  Fell apart!

Good advise given. Never owned a bike this fast. I have an HJC, great fit, tight chin strap, stock windscreen. Impossible for me to completely tuck. My chin feels the chin piece real quick and I'm almost being chocked by the chin strap. The HJC is very leaky too. I believe the best advise would be the Double Bubble.

I have an RF1000 that I've used for over 2 years and haven't had any problems with it. Like we've said above, however, not ever helmet is ideal for every head. Properly fitted, it will feel pretty tight on your bean.

It's possible you need to move down one size. Also, make sure you cinch up that chinstrap really well. Not enough to choke you but definitely enough to make it a project to put a finger under it.

WINDJAMMER 2i know you want a longer helmet but the windjammer 2 stops about %75 of the wind. for $20 you can't beat it! i've been using it for the last few years and i swear by it.
