need help

I need to change my km/h faceplate to mph faceplate.

got the gauges apart but now I can't figure out how to remove the existing faceplate, the fudging needle is in the way. Can I pry it out ?

taking the needle off and recalibrating it the way they said, with resistance doesn't sound too accurate to me.

If you look in the repair manual, chapter 7, page 32, it tells you how to reset the gauges.
