NEED LEATHERS ADVICE

Pete

I know this sounds nuts but it may work for you. Put your jacket on normally then take a bath in it. Thoroughly wet it down. Then let it dry while wearing it. The leather will shrink into proper shape. This has always worked for leather hiking boots etc.

Yeah I know it's nuts but I would try it before spending $1600 USD/CD

Lyle I have done that with boots too. With an expensive coat and complicated seams I would try saddle soap on it first though. Moisture in coat seams can mess up the stitches when it dries.

Pete: you can buy the really good stuff at a horse and tack shop really cheap and it helps to make the leather more maliable and can even recondition damaged leather.

Thanks. No problem finding saddle soap and 134 other leather cleaners, conditioners and shiners around my place.

Got a seriously horsey wife. Indulging her p***ion for those big smelly things is why I get to ride as much as I want.

Livingroom smells like a barn.

Reach for a frosty in the fridge and instead I get some bottle of injection drug for a horse's ***.

Motoboy: what color are you leathers? You are here in L.A. aren't you? You can e-mail me at mgraeber@fadal.com with the info. I have had the busa for a couple of months and am considering Aerostich or leathers. Yours sound like a nice deal. Thanks.

Well Pete, welcome to the world of speed my friend! I would expect at 270+k's things are going to start to flap, chatter etc..just hopefully not start to fall off!!! lol
I don't think the hump on the back will help, that is more for a high speed slide while racing, plus stops the head from snapping to far back, the *** out of the seat sounds good! will make the air flow over you and over the seat hump better (I think). I am lucky my *** is big enough to fill the chunck of space, the only thing on me that flaps at that speed is a few chins!
The Teknic Freeway is an awesome jacket, LOTS of perferation holes though, might help to reduce pressure on the back of the jacket. The full circumfrence zipper is better than a 8 or 12 inch, but I am sure a 1 pce in the way to go. As far as the little zipper goes, when you buy the jacket, the other side of the zipper is attached to the zipper on the back of the jacket, so you can sew this to an old, or another brand of pants, and the zipper will match up. If you didn't get one, contact Specialty Sports in MIchigan and they will send you one.

LOL, the *** is when I typed b-u-t-t, yet *** works! go figure.., hmm maybe not! damn, the administrators are taking control! lol

SCOTT: Had my first chance to run very fast today since you suggested putting my arse in the air. I waiting until the jacket started flapping at 270 then stood up and took it all the way to 300+km.

Still flaps. Need another solution.

Crap that's fast on a bicycle. Gobbles up stretches that it would take you 10 minutes to walk in 10 seconds.

Thrills me every time.
