need some more advice

Bought the 11/4 reapers just to see if I liked the raise.$39 shipped. If I didn't like them I wasn't out much. Now that I have them, they stay.Didn't like the gap at first, but now it doesn't matter.Just looks like part of the bike.

I've installed the reapers, send me pics about the "no gap" genmar. I really like the risers (lowers actually) but open to a removal - reinstall!

(06BUSA @ May 18 2007,23:20) Genmar 1 1/4 here. I didn't want the gap either. Gonna add Heli just to see if I like more. Not sure about the brake lines being long enough for both.
I don't think they'll make it. I have put helis and the 3/4 genmar on a friend's busa, though.

I'm running the 1 1/4. It clears the stock windshield.

from what i understand is you can use the 3/4" risers with heli-bars or the 1-1/4 risers without longer cables. the only "mod" you have to do is reroute the fast idle cable on both applications. if you go any higher- you have to buy and install extended cables. i installed the 1-1/4 genmar risers and believe me- it's tight but works fine. another "consideration" for going higher than 1-1/4".

I have both the 1 1/4 Genmar and Helibars on mine. ZG sport touring shield needed to be sanded a little to clear the reservoirs/switchgear. I also did +3" brake lines and rerouted the fast idle cable. Good setup very stout and it looks factory! I eventually want to try a set of the Cycle Cat risers just to be able to alter the bar angle.

(burnschevy @ May 18 2007,03:37) Ok which works the best, easiest to install, need to get some by next thurs, any board sponser got em..??? and do they really make that much difference, I had gotten use to my bike about 3000 miles, then I lowered the rear 2'' and ever since (about 500 miles) my wrist have been killing me after only about 50 miles. I thought lowering the rear would have help some, not sure what going on... also if Genmar is the way to go, which ones the 3/4 or 1 1/4

? help!!!!!
First off...every "BODY" is different...therefore?...canvasing the opines of others will be of little value....however...shared experience may help.

I myself had a strange set of circumstances that caused my riding posture to "evolve" as time passed...as follows...

Upon first purchasing my slightly used bone stock '03 with a scant 1,600 on the odo?...I weighed close to 250 lbs...and i found the stock riding position a tad too "commited" of a tuck than i was accoustomed to or in shape for..so?...withing 2 weeks i ordered up and mounted a 1 1/4" genmar (i elected not to go with the heli-bars as they change the draft/wrist angle causing your elbows to flair outward instead of tucked inward as they should be) and a puig touring windscreen..it seemed like a no-brainer to me...but while my upper body seemed to be more comfy?...after a while i did notice that it also seemed as though i had less leg room..the change in upper body angle crimped my hips and knees a bit...and then?...as time passed on?...two things happened...

1. I lost 50lbs of body weight and...

2. Started feeling more and more weight falling onto my wrists for some reason...to the point of serious discomfort on all dayers.

and then it hit me...my shinking abdomin was no longer contacting the tank the way it used to..which USED TO aid in supporting my upper body weight and lessening the strain on my lower back..so on a hunch?..I removed the genmar just for shids and giggles...just to see...and viola!

Abdomin was once again making contact and aiding in upper body support and tyhe weight immediately fell back OFF my wrists...then oddly enough?...i went to rearsets...cyclecats...moving my feet back a good 1 1/2"s and again?...a vast improvement...as even though it did bring my feet up an inch or so?...moving my feet back that 1 1/2"s caused my knees to move waaaay rearward and downward annnnnnnd?..."INWARD"....on the far more slender rear area of the tank...taking the looooong (an expensive) way around to discovering that rearsets offer up far more leg room and ergo comfort than does going the riser route..and for bonus points?...it keeps my abdomin on the tank and imho?...is far more in keeping with the busa's intended ergos...hmmm...a "Comfortable Tuck"...imagine that!
