This is the only time I see me posting this pic myself, and no, it's not a ploy to get others to see the old pink Busa...

What software was used to color "over" the original picture? Every piece of crap software I have only "paints" over the pic, hiding the features underneath...I need something a bit more sophisticated (whew, big word)...so, any ideas?

I've got Microsoft Picture It...crap

I've got Paint Shop Pro...crap

Okay, right click, save as so the rest of you clowns can have a copy...

Anytime I have a pic I want to work on, I can't change the colors like they're done in that damn, God forsaken won't-go-away pic of me...

Thank you Nathan...I knew you were smarter than whats-his-puss...

I don't know, my little girl loves your pink barbie busa-she tells me to paint mine that color. Just like her barbie jeep!

Photoshop.

Basically, it's a matter of creating a mask that is the outling of the busa (or whatever), and then going into a tool within it and adjusting levels, to where you make the base color whatever you want it to be (as opposed of an everyday base of white, for instance). That way, all the details, shadows etc are retained (although they also start to take on the new base color as well).

I'm sure there are other ways of doing it that are a tad cleaner and such, but that's the quick and dirty solution.

Fractal Painter you can probably do it in, too.

Yes, Photoshop.

Another easy way is to just create a new layer, outline and fill in the area, then adjust the opacity of the new layer so you can see through it. Flatten the layers and enjoy your masterpiece.

So, are you gonna give us more fodder to work with? I'll demonstrate.

I see now that I indeed did earn that one...

I was using 'Photoshop' more as a verb than the noun it apparently is...

Now, don't pick on me before 9 a.m. ever again!

Well, if you post up a pic of yourself in front of your Busa, I'm sure SOMEONE will jazz it up a bit and paint it pink for you...wouldn't your little girl be so happy, Daddy?!
