NEVER turn your back on danger.

On the 31st anniversary of working in construction i turned my back on danger for just one second.

Thursday afternoon i was working on a roof top at a "DUCt Tape" company.
The scope of the work was to change the outlet height of a recently installed high pressure steam vent.

My job was to stage and erect scaffold equipment on the roof top to make the changes....

By lunch we had all the equipment at the location and i started to construct the scaffold as the other co work brought the gear closer.

It was a grand late summer day.. I climbed to the upper level of the scaffold to complete the decking and guard rails. I was quite aware of the steam and its direction.

I bent over to pick up another peice of equipment and stood up in the stream of super heated steam.

The wind had shifted and blew it in my directon. I was not in the path for more then a second.

Just a reminder for all.... wear all your gear and never let down your guard.

It is the nature of the business. You just never know.

Ouch. BTDT. Hope you heal soon. The silver cream I had long ago for the same kind of burns was great. The blisters aren't much fun though.

Oh, man! I'm glad it was just your arm and not your head/face! Heal up quick.

I had that happen one day while working on a bike was bent over checking for leaks, and just as I took my face away from bike, hose blew and got my arm instead, imagine hollering for help and noone was there,lol...I fell back and missed hitting my head on concrete post right behind me...Keep some silverdyne on it and coco butter once healing and scar will hardly be noticed...Sorry for your misfortune...

Holy sh*t! Sorry to see that trekfuel :-(

Dude...it's gonna suck trying to sleep or put a shirt on the next couple days. Be careful out there :director:

Alot of people don't know, but mustard is good for burns too. If your able to put it on a few minutes after the burn, it keeps it from blistering up and keeps the pain from coming on. 9 times outta 10 you woun't have a scar either.

:poke: thats a nice tan you got there  glad you will be ok, btw. i would rather have had road rash...wow!

Dammm, dude. That's a tough one. 2nd degree steam burns and prolly about as painful as it can get.

Aloe Vera gel is one of the best things for burns.

Thanks for the benefit of your experience here.

Heal up fast.

I'm in pain from just looking at the photos. Hope you feel better soon!

Exactly my thoughts,.. awesome tan bro... but not the best way to get it at all.. hope you heal and heal quick... i dont even want to imagine what you felt bro... Top of my hand barely touched the exhausts after a ride and hurt like hell!

Man I know that shid has to hurt. Your company really needs to tighten up on safety procedures. Steam can easily kill. Nothing but well wishes on the recovery.
