New 2009 oil question

I just picked up a 2009 with 41 miles on it. I think it must have scared the old guy that bought it june of 2009. I put 100 miles on her getting home , so now at 140 miles.

The Question:
I dont know if Suzuki puts some kind of break in oil in them? eather way should I dump the 16 month old oil out?, I feel I should , any opinions?

can't hurt to put new oil in. In fact, 1st thing I do when I get a "new" bike is change the oil and filter (4 qts Mobil 1 Racing 4T, full syn)

I agree. Had 2 miles on mine when I picked it up, got it home and changed the oil and went over the bike before I rode it. Cheap insurance..

Agreed . Peace of mind can be had with four qts of oil and a new filter

I also did mine at 100 and then again at 600.

That's one way of puttin it, the fairings are a pain in the arse on the busa. First few oil changes probably took me 2 hours or more, now that i have taken them off quite a few times i can finally do it in about 10-15 minutes. Watch blanca's tutorial on fairing removal, was a great help

oh ya, the tutorial is what saved my ass, I would have broken something for sure without it, who would have thought a damn oil change would take me 4 hours I have put a small block chevy together in that time.

I have to agree go Rotella T, and I changed mine at 250 miles after my trip home!

I had a concours 14 and tried the Rotella T, but found smoother shifting with the mobil 1, I just got back from a ride and the Delo seems to shift tougher than the suzuki oil, but who knows, ya here it all the time, oil is oil, keep it clean and fresh and you will be fine.

anyone ever run Alysin 0W20? It requires an additive also. A guy I know has an 08 14 and I personally witnessed a 5rwhp gain by switching from the factory oil to the Alysin!!

Must be a race bike? I wouldnt run 0w oil in a street bike..

YSI, it's an 08 14 with the same mods I'm doing to mine. His bike runs great, seems to rev noticeably faster than it did with the factory oil also. He does all street riding. Guess I will be a guineaBusa and let you all know how it works out for me
