Hello all, I picked up a slightly damaged 04 Hayabusa Limited about a two months ago and have been slowly getting used to her while I have been fixing her up. She is just about ready to head out to the painters for her new look.
I have been riding for a little over 10 years and have been working on bikes just as long, I have owned one brand new bike through the last 10 years, I get much more enjoyment buying them broken and fixing them up than I do from getting a bone stock floor model and upgrading it...
Modifications to the Hayabusa are none at this point, I have mainly been replacing some factory parts that were broken scratched up etc...
First aftermarket add ons were a set of Frame Sliders and Rear Spools.
Next I am going to add some Yoshi RS3 Slip ons and then a PC3 then it will be taken to Smithers Customs in KS for the tuning.
My main complaint on the bike so far is that the rear suspension is to cushy, but I have a friend coming out over the next week or so to help me set my sag and then we will adjust everything else as needed.
I am looking forward to learning more about this marvelous machine and am interested in seeing other riders ideas and opinions of what works/does not work when it comes to making modifications to this bike...
Here are a few pics, of my 04 Busa from the day that I picked it up...It had two cracked wheels that had been sealed with JB weld (Replaced), it had bald tires (replaced), it had a totally rashed up Stator cover that they tried to fix with JB Weld (Replaced), it had a R6 Battery (Replaced), a broken clutch lever (Replaced), a broken windscreen (Upgraded to a DB) and some massive scratches all over the left side lowers (Getting ready for paint).
Man was it in rough shape...
