New exhaust

Ecueditor simply opens up a whole new world for your bike with mods. 10 to 12 thousand for a motorcycle, then however much for a full exhaust ($700 to $2000) and then people refuse to spend 4 or 5 hundred more dollars (interface & tune) to get everything dialed in close to perfect. Sure, it will work just fine without a tune or pcIII/pcV but why start skimping all of the sudden. Jerkin off works just fine but isn't the real thing so much better? Lol!

Yes...yes it is:rofl:

I suppose, but at the same time I live by the logic "If it isn't broke, don't fix it".

also, 90% of the riders on here can't utilize another 5whp.

I assume then that you have stock exhaust on your bike, right? Because the stock exhaust that comes on these bikes certainly isn't broke so why would you have changed it?

I didn't do it for power gains, but it was easy weight loss. I ran the stock pipes for a long time on my street bike. They're just combersome. by the time I had a full set of luggage on there I was begging for places to lose weight.

wel, when you put it THAT way... I guess I'll go get a Alienhead full system and a PC V!

No, the FI light will not come on. I had a full R77 on my gen2, (got rid of) and now have slip ons with a stock header and catalytic converter gutted. My bike has never been tuned either(I will with ECU Editor as soon as I have cash for the exhaust I want though).
My FI light has never came on and my bike runs and idles fine. Would a tune help it? Definately. Do I need it? Nope.
My spark plugs also look fine, the engine isn't lean.

Why did you go from a full system back to just slip ons?

I just didn't like the look of the single side full system on the Busa, so I got rid of it(nothing wrong with it). Then I gutted the converter(to get rid of some heat build up around my feet, wasn't looking for hp) and shortend the stock mufflers, then ran across a good deal on some cheap slipons. They're just temporary until I can afford a full dual cf Akropovic and Ecu Editor dyno tune.
Things kept popping up in the meantime to take my bike money, so I'm just saving and being cautious for the moment before I drop a few grand.

Haven't read every post but went to the Yosh site and read their data sheets and installation instructions. Now I understand. 5 HP gain, uses factory O2 sensor.

Don't worry about getting a PC or ECU editing, you don't need it.

Sixpack are you still running the O2 sensor?

Also another question on this subject. I know most of the high performance drag guys use wide band O2 sensor. Why does everybody simple throw them away?

Yep, no reason not too. An untuned bike would run a little worse without it.

My goodness man, thats a lot of switchin  :poke:

Haven't heard it in person, but I love the Akropovic exhausts as well. Just afraid of being too loud (Don't like given the popo a heads up :hide:)

:laugh:Yeah, I don't like to attract attention either, quiet is good. I haven't heard the full dual Akrapovics on the gen2 either, but I think they sound great on the gen1...and they really can't be dramtically different, I hope:laugh:. All the Akrapovics on all bikes I've heard over the years have a similiar nice quiet sound though, as well as making good power.
