  • all seems cool then
  • pair totally removed and block off plates installed?
  • small box mod/big mod. look inside the airbox and see if a hole has been cut removing the flapper
  • not the best tech guy, gives you the idea
  • I did not watch the whole video air box mod
  • mate's Busa looks tight!
  • plug to jump for codes is in the tail section, not the gauge cluster
  • Rubb.

Ill check when i get it back. Plug for codes is in tail but codes appear on cluster ;)
As far as i know the valves there still but just the pipe disconnected and blanked. I assume the vacuum opens the valve so theres no reason to remove and blank?

Yup on the cluster.
The pair weighs a ton so while yer in there. Block off plates are pricey,I just use cut up beer can for material. :D Cut tubes off close, slip material underneath,re-use the plates. Why have exhaust going out tubes with no where to go.

Very good point! Thank you :)
Atm im trying to sort my flipping shed :(
Im not a builder and the lad who was doing it didnt seal it at the base... I've jacked it up for q better look as theres no side or back access. I was just labouring.

Well it was fun while it lasted, 4 blasts and got home to find an exhaust missing haha. The lad told me to make sure I retightened them after warming up, I didnt... lost. Retraced and no sign. MEH! I was being a knob on it to be fair.
Sold old cans tho so looks like I need to get a 4-1 single sided system sorted.
Also the Stator cover was cleaned and a new gasket on, still leaks - is it possible theres pressure there? I nipped the bolts up as it had been warmed up but just find it strange.
As annoying as this all is... the 4 thrashes I had were worth it! Got the speedo all working on GPS and only the RPM left to sort ( not read destructions yet ) I have NEVER had a bike make me smile so much before :)

Right on @Bert. Shame about the can...althou...I personally dont like 'em,VooDoo etc.
Stator cover bolts do not need a whole lot of torque on the bolts.
There is little "pressure" in there, oil in not being forced out,its just leaking out.
For the RPM's you'll just be grabbing a signal off your disconnected clocks wiring block...the instructions may prove useful. :D
4 hard pulls,one mishap...yer batting .075 that's respectable.
Maybe one of them members has one of them shorty cans they could retrieve from their dust bin for ya...

Post it to ya for free.

hahaha tbh I dont want the cans it was just a cheap fix with the new tail - I want a single sided 4-1 so I posted asking on busa scotland FB page :)
The revs are wired up, its the koso dash settings for the pulse I need to figure out but meh, I decided to get pished instead.
4 long blasts 1 mishap - tbh I am just glad it didnt go under the rear tyre.... could have been a lot worse.
I cant see why its leaking tbh unless theres pressure,

Exhaust looks sweet and is going to smell nice as all that Autosol burns off.
Just my opinion Bert, but I don't think there is enuff pressure in there to force oil out past 2 good mating surfaces and a new gasket. Maybe one of the other lads will chime in. Only weak "theory" I have is that the hose for the crankcase breather is plugged and you do have high pressure in the case.
It's an OEM cover right? Not a Chinese POS. Looks OEM in yer pic.
I'm at a loss mate...

I will have a look and tbh I have no idea. Worth a check.
While your there,I always disconnect my CC breather from the airbox and vent it to the outside via an' aftermarket CC breather.
Like this...

or similar. Doesn't have to be exact, just give you an' idea. Run it past your techy mates.

Must admit I was looking at billet low profile ones, might just buy one and a new filter :)

Check your stator cover to make sure it's true...it could have a slight warp in it...that would cause a leak.

If it is GTG, use some Permatex (or similar) sealer on the mating surfaces before applying the gasket, it doesn't take much.
