New Ride

That's a nice looking cruiser but I'd hate to clean those spoke wheels.I recall an artical from 1 of last years magazines where some guy in Virginia customized one of those and man was it sweet. That stable is looking pretty good and that 340 HP+ Dodge is telling me to go to the dealer and buy it's brother.

Sweet!!! We are opposite. I have an '04 Roadie and love it. All I need is the '03 LE Busa like you!

That is my favorite color of all.

Put a Barons big air kit and Vance and Hines Propipe on it and it will pull even harder.

Check out the Roadstar Riders forum. Lots of great info there. Great bunch of guys. I have this forum and that one in my favorites.

I just turned 15.5 K on the odometer this week on my last trip.

how do you go from copper ? to black n white ? dont get me wrong , i love the new bike colors , but definatly a complete oppisite ?

I traded my Royal Star Tour Deluxe in to get my Busa. I miss the long distance hauling part of it, but to have kept both would have been insanity. It would have been crazy, because I seriously doubt I would ever chose the highway bike over the busa unless I was going two up at least 4 hour ride. And that sort of jaunt just doesn't happen that often. Not often enough to warrant two payments anyway. I'd definately like to have that bike back again but I'll need some serious disposable cash to justify it.

I like your bike, sharp color combo..but then again, I love your busa more..go figure.. lol

I really think you gents are selling your busa short as a sport tourer. Hell-- 4 hours in the saddle-- I spend upwards of 9-11 hours/d and go multiple days. I'm comfy as can be and my 2 up partner is also happy as a clam.

get some decent seats, get an o-ring/throttlemeister, genmar risers, a ST screen, and perhaps a foot peg mod and if your not comfy-- then I don't think the cruiser will do you much good either. If i could only stick in the busa seat for an hour or two, why bother? I mine as well plop my arse down on a liter bike then...
I'm not selling the Busa short on anything, I love the bike and except for my hand going numb on long rides I can sit in the saddle all day. I also know that with bar risers and throttle thingy I could fix the hand going numb thing.

This bike is about making the wife/passenger happy and comfy. Say what you will, but any person more than 5'6" and 110# is not comfortable on the back of ANY sportbike be it a sport tourer like the busa or not.

I want my wife to WANT to ride, and she's not always that eager to jump on the back and go any distant, now don't get me wrong, she's fine cruising around town for a bit, running out to dinner, going for ice cream, but I'm talking going for a ride.

Nice choice!  I didn't know that Yamaha was still putting spoked wheels on the Road Star.

My 05 Silverado has cast wheels.

I use both of my bikes about equally.  With the saddlebags, nothing beats my Roadie for trips to the grocery store!

Here's a couple of Road Star sites you might want to check out:

Enjoy!
Thanks for the Links, already been thinking I needed to find some forum to offer up some information.

As for the Spoked wheels, they are only offered on that 05 black and white, all the others are cast till you get down to the 650's

That is one sharp looking bike!! Congrats man!!!!

My wife is buggin me to get another cruiser for the exact same reasons.  My Busa will never go though!!!

I'm tossing between the Yamaha and the big Kawi.  The Kawi 2K is HUGE but it rides soooooooo nice!!  I figure, if I'm not on the Busa what difference how big and heavy it is, I might was well be comfy.  Do they make license plate frames that say "I'd rather be riding my Busa"

I agree, I sat on the Vulcan 2000, it's a beast. Same reason applies there for me as the VTX 1800, Just to much bike for my short arse to move around, when you need the wife to push on the front to get you out of a slight upgrade slot, it's time to go smaller.

Obviously I love that copper/orange.

Not really sure, I looked at alot of bikes and none really stood out to me. Just so many plain jane all black or all silver bikes out there that didn't appeal to me. This at least had some contrast. I actually even concidered trying to find a leftover 03 or 04 and take the money saved and do a custom job cause so many factory jobs are just boring.

see if you never let your wife on a cruiser ya won't have this problem..

haha are ya listening single guys??? the hayabusa is the most comfortable bike to ride passneger on that she's ever been on.. and I plan to keep it that way.. lol

A few times we ran into friends on cruisers/wings/ ect.. and they've wanted to switch out for a minute if she's with me I'll just pass, or if there are other people there that she feels comfortable around it's the old "I would honey, but it's not mine, and I'm not used to this bike.. lets not take any chances ok.. i'd hate to see you all buggered up."

problem solved.

Ego is wise.

I agree, she thought the Busa was great compared to the 95 gsxr750. But other than the payments, it's always nice to walk into the garage and have options.

Nice looking stablemate. My dad has a v star 1100 and it's a pretty comfortable bike. Not as comfortable as the almighty Busa, but it'll suffice.
