New Side Fairing Design for the VR stage 2 kit

Well it's hard to say but i know if you put the ghetto style filter directly onto the turbo the only pulling heat source is from the oil cooler not the rad. and i have notiec alotta Ghetto kits have Deleted there oil coolers so they can be pulling cool air in that way.

But in any case i'm gona build it and see what happens and do some testing on it what would be the best way to determine how much heat it is actaully taking in? any suggestion. and from a performance aspect i'll either get it on the dyno or send a mock up of one i did to someone that has better access to a dyno then me and see what they come up with if there would be a willing party

Without an oil cooler it's a different ball game of course. You can easily run a Laminova heat exchanger on the right hand side and convert the whole oil cooler area into a scoop and effectively do what I did, but from the bottom rather than the side of the rad.

Anyway, good luck with it whatever way you decide to go

Yeah well i don't plan to remove the oil cooler i think it be better to have an oil cooler for street riding then not but who knows. Anyways with the location of the filter that is the heat it will be picking up is gona be from the oil cooler mostly which i don't know if that will produce all that much heat not as much as the rad would anyways.

As i asked before whats a good way to test for heat saturation?

What's an oil cooler?

NEVER used one except on the very stock form of the bike. Not for big bores, not for non intercooled kits, and definitely not on my intercooled kit.

Hey Secret Squirll whats the cost of just that tank? would look nice in my trunk and give me a bit more space

I had it made as a 1-off in stainless steel to match the exact shape and slope. I've never seen anything similar for sale, you'd have to find someone who'd fabricate it from scratch for you. I have a few more pics if you need a better idea of the shape...

Because over time the Aluminium would dissolve into the water and microscopic particles would block the filters and jets in the water injection system. Yes, I know Velocity make them out of Aly but I've seen this problem with my own eyes a couple of times. Aly is NOT a good choice of material for a water injection tank. Go ask Lorcan over on 750turbo.com if you want a first-hand explanation
