New Tire and Valve Stem.

I don't know if he still has them but I got my set from Goldenchild a year or two ago for like $21 to my door. Loved them, need to get a set for the '08.

Those look great, Steve! I am DEFINITELY getting a pair today since I'm changing my tires soon. Thanks for all the good advice yesterday as well!

sweet. :beerchug:

how often are u supposed to change the valve stems? every 2 or 3 tires?

Unless you ask, valve stems will probably not be changed (rubber stems)
Usually 10k miles just for peace of mind with the rubber ones. Or every other tire change.
Some dealers will replace them with each tire change, which is the best you could ask for and a very good idea.
No need to change metal unless for some remote reason they are losing air.
A valve core change would probably fix it.
Personally, never had to replace metal stems. They should last for many years.

Those are sweet! I've always used the stems they put in golf cart tires. They're shorter than the regs and they've helped but I may have to try a set of these.

+1 On the Stems, But You will find it easier if you face them to the right side of bike makes it easier when the bike is on the kickstand,

Loomis..

I use that very same stem as well and have for a few years now. I got mine from one of our members Charles "cat3n4@gmail.com". He is a military that sells bike stuff on the side. Good guy and quick shipment. I've purchased from him on a number of occasions. I have four or five sets in my tool box.

As said earlier, face the stem to the right side so you can get to them easily when the bike is on the side stand.

This is my right side, is yours the other side?

What are your opinions? How many miles per set (or rear) and are the a sticky tire or sport tire. I choose the Road 2's over the HPX's becuase I couldn't find a set under 400.00 bucks.

HPX is not a sticky tire...I would suspect that he is using that tire because he got a good deal through the Department

I like them just fine front was $140, I may change to Dunlap on my next change. I had a deal for $200

That's awesome --- I was just thinking if something like that existed the other day when I checked my tire pressures...

Thanks! Gonna keep this in mind when I get some new shoes...

Oh man, next tire change I'm doing this. I went with stainless last time because my rubber valve stem was cracked. These angled stems would be so nice!
