I'm new here and I'm about to buy a 2006 hayabusa, I will look at it and test ride it tomorrow. What are some things I should look at when test riding it and what are the common problems of this bikes? Also this is a 2006 busa limited edition with over 10000 miles. The guy told me that it has some light scratches on one side due to being tiped over while parked and also it idles low so you have ansd it stalls if you dont give it a little gas. He said that the idle problem is because the settings on the power commander are not setup right. He is asking $7000 for it, is this a fair price? What would be a fair price for a bike in this conditions?

Thanks in advance

check the gears:
make sure you go thru all the gears,
bearings in the wheels,
cush drive, you don't want any slack,
clutch,
and get all extra parts include the seat and rear hump,
HELMET & Jacket, can't hurt to ask.

:welcome: to the oRg. Don't buy it. Someone might correct me but the PC shouldn;t cause idle issues. $7K is too much for a bike that doesn't idle and has been down. We've had several Gen II's go for that. The 10K miles is low. These bikes maintained go beyond a 100K

I wouldn't do that much for a bike that is not MINT. Plastics on the bike are EXPENSIVE. Keep looking, you'll find a better deal.

To much money! :poke: Be smart, you don't want to buy somebody's problems. :banghead: I know that if I was selling my 'Busa, I would make sure she was top notch and ready to roll. :goodidea: Just my :2cents:
:welcome: to the ORG!

:welcome: Buyers market. Take your time and you can find a mint gen1 for less or a little more for a nice gen2.

for the Nth time, price is too high. For a few more, you're now in a position to buy a Gen II (someone listed an 08 for $7500 in the CLASSIFIEDS).

:welcome: to the .Org!!

Yep the price seems a bit high. However, with all the well informed people expressing their opinions, you now have some ammo to use in your favor to haggle the price down. That is if this is the bike you reeeealy want. IMO, 5000-5500 would be a fair price.

:welcome: to the family. To Much Money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i agree with all the rest. too much money. specially if repairs are needed. for that price it should be mint no exceptions.

7K is to much for a bike that isn't running right. Don't buy a bike with a problem...

For 7K you can find a bike that is running in perfect condition with no damage.

It is idling low??? If it was just a matter of low idle you can adjust with a long screwdriver in seconds, if it's idling rough you got a problem there.

I looked at it today but I was not able to ride it or turn it on because the owner had to work and could not meet up with me. The bike looks pretty good, the scratches on the side are on the bottom and you can barely see them also it has a small dent on the tank on the oposite side. We are going to meet up tomorrow so I can test ride it.

I will see if he takes $5500 for it, I dont have too many options being stationed overseas, I have been looking for a bike for over a year and this is the first one that I have seen for sale.

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the idle so I can try that tomorrow when I go test ride it?

A dent on the tank??? Tanks aren't cheap:whistle:

:welcome:
There are many bikes out there in that price range. What that person is asking there should be no issues with it & If he knows the issue he should have it fixed before selling.
I'd keep looking. Haste makes waste.

sounds like there are things the current owner isn't telling you and he is wanting way too much for it...hope you're a great mechanic if you buy this one

btw, :welcome: to the board

after test riding it and adjusting the throt tle I got the bike. I only paid $5000 for it.
