New toy….

Picked this up yesterday.

2011, 34,000K’s / 21,000 miles, Yoshi Carbon cans, Powercommander 5, braided lines, iridium screen, recent service, new Angel GT2’s in a 190/55 rear, still got the factory warning stickers and reflector. Not sure what to do with it, I wouldn’t mind a horsepower build, I wouldn’t mind a few trips to the drags.

Looks like a fine bike for doing almost anything with.....it's been well cared for that's for sure.
Yeah, I didn’t get much history with it but it looks that way.

Long rear guard, factory warning stickers, reflectors, untouched peg feeler bolts, and fitting Angel GT tyres is normally a more sensible mature rider around here.

It doesn’t look like it’s had a hard life.

I've never seen a GSXR400...we did get the FZR400 and Ninja 250 in the '80s but we had lots of fun 2 strokes to make up for not getting the 400

In the '80s I rode a TZR250, RZ350/500, RG250/500, NSR400 and they were lots of fun...I kick my arse for not buying one or more.....

Be great when you get the little Gixxer done.....

That 1400
I never worked out why the 14 didn’t make it to the US. I think it would have done OK. Its a nice big solid bike with classic Old Skool looks. It’s not ideal for tuners and rev heads as it’s a stand alone motor not a spin off of anything else like the Bandit or B-King, but it’s smaller odd spaced throttle bodies and overall design get it very noticeably more torque than the alternative ZRX, CB and XJR

They are 1402cc standard but I have seen a couple of 1620cc / 160hp and turbo builds done to them.

That is odd as here in Canada we often get bikes not offered in the US...

That 1400 would have been welcomed here for sure...

We didn't get any of the nakeds like the CB or XJR either...we did get the ZRX though...

This morning. First ride on the Gen-2.

It’s not slow. It’s not quiet. The motor feels REAL strong, but loud pipes, a good fuel map and not having to meet Euro 4/5 is an advantage over the past H2 SX and current Gen-3.

Gear box is excellent, the seller mentioned it but I’m deaf to salesmen. Nicer than any of my other bikes including newer ones costing twice as much.

I used the H2 and Gen-3 a lot with traction control / wheelie control on, just being lazy and being able to gun in out of corners and off the lights with minimum brain input. This thing will and does stand up and point the front at the clouds, in a controllable and entertaining way.

Gear lever needs to go down a fraction, suits builders boots but not bike boots. Genuine Suzuki chipped keys are not cheap but I’ll bit the bullet, having one key makes me nervous, I can turn the immobiliser off in the ECU and use a cheap key but I’d rather not.

Lots I want to do to it, a BTL lock up is a must before it go’s to the drags, and I might rehome those Angel GT2 tyres, but it’s a start.
